I am an EU 39 and wear a Size 6 in the RM Williams unisex boots. I really like the newer women's range with the boots in white. They are traditionally worn by farmers and and super comfortable. They were sold by the Blundstone company but are all leather including the sole. They are over 10 years old and have never, over many years and miles, hurt my very fussy feet. Mine are a men's size 7 or 7.5 and I have narrow heels. I did put a wool inner sole in them to take up some room and to warm them up on a winter walk. I have never slipped in them and they look as good today as the day they were bought. I have been at the shoe repair when people have brought theirs in for "help" and they can be made to look and function like brand new. Different styles. Round toe, chisel toe, with detailing, without...They are great for urban walking and good enough on easy trails (i.e. no steep slippery rocks or loose gravel.)&nbsp; They have decent grip on wet or even snowy pavement but are not great on ice, especially the styles without lug soles. Then again, what *is* good on ice?&nbsp;</p> <p>My current pair are the more feminine version with the slight heel below, which I got for a trip back east when I could only carry a couple of pairs of shoes and needed an option that would work with pants and a casual dress -- these are awesome. They fit a little narrower than most of the styles (good for me) and support my midfoot extremely well.&nbsp;</p> <p>Some of the other styles aggravated my plantar fasciitis (too flat for my foot) but these ones feel great for HOURS. For example my friend bought hers at a local shop and when there was a problem some time later they replaced the soles for free, I believe. I can't remember the exact details but she was very happy with the outcome, which hinged on her having a customer file at that shop. I don't know if online retailers would provide the same. I was impressed that there are still brands out there that stand behind the quality of their product. </p> <p>I like the oxblood, but I always do! The dusty black to me look like something that's already worn in/faded, which is generally not my preference. It could be good if there's a lot of road salt where you are because it wouldn't show as much. I bought them late last year on sale but haven’t worn them yet (summer here).</p> <p>They are solid and a little on the wide side (which works for me). I am an AU 9.5/EU40 in boots and got the “AU 7” (this must refer to AU men’s sizing, as there is no way I am an AU 7 in women’s sizing). I tried the 6.5 first but they were a tad short. The shaft elastic is quite tight, you have to work to get them on and off. I assume this will loosen over time. (I don’t mind that because it tends to keep dirt and grass seeds out.) There is room enough for thick socks.</p> <p>I plan to wear them for hikes and to visit and occasionally work on a friend’s farm. Our farming friends only wear Blundstones and Redbacks, and life on their farm is pretty rugged, so I think you can assume they are tough boots. I find them to be very comfortable, and have good, reliable traction. I have the exact model you show above in black (the higher shaft women’s version). Mine are four years old and I love them. Traction is good and they are super comfortable. I use them for walks on dirt roads and mellow trails without any problem, and they are the first shoes I reach for in cooler weather if I know I’ll be on my feet all day. I’m a US 9 or EU 40 with slightly wide feet. I went with an AU 6.5 in these so I would have room for a felted wool insole and merino boot socks and the fit is perfect. The leather is thick but molds to the foot over time. Half sizes increase the volume and width rather than length.
