Hi Christine, have you looked at the clam diggers on the Boden website? Let's see if I can post a link.
http://www.bodenusa.com/en-us/.....d=-50#jf11

There is a good picture of clams, hope it helps.

Thanks Marianne. As for 'deep' - that refers to how much fabric is folded up into the hem. For example, regular jeans usually have a narrow hem, but trousers will often have much more fabric folded up in the hem, making it deeper. Does that make sense? I hope so!

From what I understand, clamdiggers have the same shape as skinny (or straight leg) jeans, so they are quite tapered around the leg down to the hem. Does that make sense? Depending on the cut of your bootcuts, you may have to narrow them down. I am not sure what you mean by "deep", sorry.

Hi all, I have a pair of pants that are definitely too short for PPL that I'd like to hem to clams because they fit well everywhere else. I have a couple of questions for those of you with great clams, if you wouldn't mind answering.

First, how deep is the hem on your pair?

Second, if you compare your clams to a pair of bootcut pants or jeans, how do the lines of the leg line up? Since you can't always hem any pair of pants to whatever length you like and have them look good, but if the clams are the same basic shape as a boot cut pair of pants (which is what I would be hemming) I should be OK.

Thank you so much for taking time to check this for me!!
