Oh Louise I'm glad you switched your shampoo, when my hair was red (I know it's hard to believe) I used that shampoo and it left a colour residue on my hair, after several washes this residue felt almost clay like and took a lot of clarifying to remove.

Louise, Sounds like what I mentioned on Maya's thread awhile ago. Those *frizzys* are not broken or damaged hair. It is the hair you notice along the outer perimeter of you hair that's stand away from your scalp. these hair are particularly noticeable in humidity and after shampooing, when the natural oils are absent and there is not enough weight to keep them down...they are just younger hair s, replacement through natural shedding. A little product...pomade or such...used very sparingly as a finishing product will keep them in check:)

I think i'm going to try switching my shampooo i've been using this
http://www.johnfrieda.co.uk/pr.....nt_red.asp which says is suitable for colour treated hair thinking it would prevent colour fade but i'm thinking it might not be specially formulated for coloured hair? So i've picked up some travel sized bottles of a couple of special coloured hair shampoo/ conditioner to try I've also sprayed in copious amount of leave in conditioner today which seems to have calmed the flyaways x

I think I have more of those annoying little wispy hairs than normal hair It's especially bad this time of year. Something about the weather causes them to stick out all over the place. I doubt it's because of damage based on your description. If your hair was breaking, you would see it in your brush and in the tub, and the ends of your hair would be broken and split.

I been googling. My hair doesn't feel at all dry and is still really shiny perhaps it's not hair breakage? x

Louise, I'm no expert but those short hairs could be re-growth, and not necessarily breakage. I get a load of them at this time of year, because my hair grows like twice as fast in the warm, sunny weather!

Thanks all, Taylor I don't know the product used. I noticed it because I seem to have loads of flyaway hair, when I looked more closely they are just hairs which are short and seem to be flicking outwards so i'm assuming they have broken off? I had a home done semi permenant colour 9 months ago but nothing since x

Actually I am quite surprised it is breaking. usually adding, or depositing color for the first time doesn't cause this kind of damage and breakage Lightning and bleaching repeatedly, well that is where damage occurs.

Is it much more than natural shedding? 50 to 100 hair a day ,or noticeable breakage? Any Idea of the product used?... Did you have color before... do it yourself particularly prior to this application?...any additional info would help.

Hmmm. Sorry to hear that Louise. Hope the pros chime in to help out.

LOP, thank goodness hair grows. Sometimes the difference between a good and a bad haircut is a mere two weeks.

Hi Louise. I use http://www.drugstore.com/produ.....atid=76193
after towel drying my hair. It is amazing on frizz and breaking ends.

Sorry about your hair trouble. I got a bad haircut last week (very shirt bangs!) and just got a hold of how to make it look good.

As you all know i've recently had my hair coloured and i've noticed my hair is nowhere near as supple as it was before and bits are breaking off more so than before! I'm washing it with special colour protect shampoo and conditioner and slopping on a heaving conditioning treatment once a week. Any advice? x
