Thanks Suz. Good points. You're right, it appealed to me right away -- it was a quick decision and not a big risk. I took it off the rack and carried it around the store, filled it with my other purchases and checked out. Every summer we go to the Stratford Festival in Ontario for a week and I was thinking that a big carry-all would come in handy. Love the idea of your leopard print tote and always admire Natalie's colorful bags (so different from my collection of grey, black and brown). In any case this print is subtle enough that I think it'll work for me.

I think a print bag, belt, or footwear can add enormous punch and fun to a wardrobe. I wear a lot of solids, too, so I really enjoy this kind of thing. And I find it works best if you buy it just as you did. Inexpensive, not really a risk, try it out -- soon enough you'll be using it all the time.

At the moment I only own two printed bags -- one has leopard print and one is black and white spotted. I also have a colour block tote. They are some of my most beloved bags even if not always used.

Cerinda, I think you're right.
El Cee, I agree--it really is more botanical than floral--and that works for me--also the option to reverse it to burgandy is a plus in my book too. Should work both ways with the colors I wear.
chewyspaghetti -- thanks for the vote of confidence!
On a final note, even my husband thinks it looks useful!

I like the bag. The print, to my eye, it is not too loud or bold. And, yes, it has more of a botanical feel to it than a full-out floral. Like you, I tend to wear more solids than prints as far as my clothing is concerned -- so I do not mind if my bags or other accessories are in a statement print. The fact that this particular bag is reversible is a big plus in my book… go print side when you want more of a statement, and go solid burgundy when you want something more subtle.

I was just looking at this yesterday - it's gorgeous! I think it would work well for a mostly solid wardrobe.

Not sure about this one--I'm not typically drawn to florals (although, given my last post, apparently I was during my last trip to Target). In any case I bought this tote bag (which is reversible to a solid burgundy color) because of the colors and it seemed like a practical vacation bag--waterproof--easily wiped down and huge. It comes with the cute little burgundy pouch, as shown. It's bigger than a typical shopper so I'm not sure how much use it would get other than on vacation--on the other hand it could be one of those items that make me wonder how I lived without it. Also, since I don't wear a lot of prints, I don't need to worry about competing patterns. The pattern is a mix--not totally floral (maybe botanical is a better descriptor) and does reverse to a sold color but I guess I'm on the fence about it since normally I would choose something more subdued. Thoughts on patterned tote bags?
