I too like a semi-tuck or a high-low top. I like a bit of scrunch at the ankle. For shoes I wear ballet flats, pointy-toed booties, 3" wedge sandals or my Okalas. Good luck!

In for the answers as I am struggling with mine. (Mine are the slouchy/silky tapered trousers)

I took a good long look in the mirror with mine on to figure out what was bugging me with them and did decide that I needed to take up the hem a little. I like how loose they are in the leg, but to have any bunching/pooling at the bottom of the pant made it a little sloppy.

For tops, I had success with longer cropped tops (the waist on my trousers are a bit higher, so these "cropped" tops showed no skin), and a hi/low top. The high/low top outfit especially necessitated high heels as the volume on volume look over-emphasized my shortness when done with flats. A semi-tuck worked with the right top, but I found myself fussing with those a lot - there are some angled zippers on the pants that I really didn't want covered with shirt fabric.

Is there any banding at the bottom of your tapered pants? I ask because if it could be pushed up the calf a little it might look smart with booties.

Pictures would go a long way with helping address your problems :).

Can you post some pictures of you wearing the pants in question? I like tapered trousers with pumps, booties, wedge sneakers (leather ) - they work with a lot. As far as tops go, what are you specifically finding difficulty with?

It's good to read that I'm not the only one who is struggling to get any shoes and top to go with this style of trouser. I've tried a few tucked in/out and can't escape the frump look. I'm not giving up though cause I like them they do look smart but what do you wear with? HELP!
