I think the red bag adds a lot. I would personally stick with a bright bag to go with the black leather jacket, but that could be my personal taste. Since you've kept the whole outfit very neutral black and cream any bright color would look great. Other good choices would be yellow or cobalt blue, but red is a classic with that color combination. If you want to stay with a black bag, I think any type black leather bag would be okay, but maybe for interest, a patent leather one would be best.
