I also have the express shirt. In the summer, I rolled the sleeves up over 3/4 length sleeve tops that I wore over them. In the fall, I wore cardigans with sleeves that were as long as the shirt's cuff. I think in the first outfit where the cuffs show, you should leave them down because they are a design element of the shirt and I think they look good.
