With shorter calves I have this trouble, too - my calves are actually on the narrow side but the whole leg is different because they're so short so often I can't zip up or if I can they are way too wide or else they come up too high...le sigh. (And maybe two) </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/tall-boots---hewi-and-review#post-1744158 Tue, 25 Oct 2016 18:14:16 +0000 AviaMariah 1744158@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>bj1111 - I was just reading the reviews for the OTK Sartos and they were saying great for skinny legs. &nbsp;So it sounds like they might work for a variety of leg types. &nbsp;Probably because they have no structure in the legs. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/tall-boots---hewi-and-review#post-1744157 Tue, 25 Oct 2016 18:12:12 +0000 bj1111 1744157@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>really timely as &nbsp;i just got a bunch of boots from 6pm.com</p> <p>i will try out the sarto ones in black. &nbsp;i wanted a lower commitment otk boot ...did not want to spend over $200 to get in on the trend. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/tall-boots---hewi-and-review#post-1744155 Tue, 25 Oct 2016 18:07:09 +0000 AviaMariah 1744155@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>In light of Angie's post today I thought I do a quick review of some tall boots I just ordered. &nbsp;I have a really hard time finding tall boots - I don't think my calves are necessarily wide, they're just short and start widening closer to my ankle than most. &nbsp;I have never been able to zip up a tall boot that didn't have some sort of healthy stretch paneling in the back of the leg. &nbsp;So I have had a HEWI for years of a tall black boot, with a block heel under 3", that I can actually zip. &nbsp;I want them primarily to wear with dresses and skirts during winter - so on the dressy side. &nbsp;I recently ordered 4 pairs of boots and I could zip up 3 of them (amazing) and one is a keeper! &nbsp;<br />#1 &nbsp;Sarto Katrina riding boots - these are a beautiful boot. &nbsp;Maybe a little more casual than what I was thinking which didn't matter since they were the only pair of the lot that I couldn't zip past my ankle. &nbsp;The "stretch" panel on the back is not very stretchy. &nbsp;I wouldn't be surprised if these would even work for someone with a skinnier than average calf.<br />#2 Donald Pilner Carmack tall boot - beautiful and sleek. &nbsp;The whole top portion of the boot is stretchy - almost like a scuba material. &nbsp;I was wearing black tights when I tried these on and almost couldn't tell where the boot ended and the tights began. &nbsp;They did bunch at my ankle a little but I think that was because of my lower calf catching the shaft. &nbsp;Even so I would have really had to consider these if I hadn't found a better for me pair. - ETA - I did find the foot bed too hard in these and wouldn't have tried an insert if I had considered keeping them. &nbsp;But I do have sensitive feet.<br />#3 Sarto over the knee boot - I tried these in black and they fit beautifully over tights, leggings or skinny jeans. &nbsp;To me they had a little more of a casual vibe than what I was looking for but I am considering getting them in this whiskey color.<br />#4 BCBG Dice round toe boot - I got these in the all suede version and they fit &nbsp;like they were specially made for me. &nbsp;And they were the ones on sale. &nbsp;Woo Hoo! &nbsp;I'll post a picture when I wear them the first time.</p> <p>Happy boot shopping!</p>
