I want a muff. I had a rabbit fur one in grade school that kept me warm. They would also work with phones better than any gloves.

This is the time of year to find gloves on sale, big discounts until they sell them all,

I can’t find my favorite pair! They must be around somewhere. I’ve been thinking I should start looking for replacements, because they’ll eventually wear out.
Here’s what I have:
1. Favorites. Very simple, stretchy black yarn knit gloves that have little rubber bumps all over palms & inside fingers so I can grip.

2. Electric blue suede gloves, found at TK Maxx last year. Are near-perfect match to my new jacket. They are long and cover my wrists. I love them for being ott in an unobnoxious way, if that’s possible.

3. lined, sorta stretchy leopard-print gloves with fluffy faux fur.

4. Big navy mittens knit of yarn in a way that makes them super-thick and much warmer than most yarn mittens. I’ve had them since middle school. My son wears them. Sadly, they’re getting holes between thumb and palm, so must be replaced.

5. Cream-colored mittens that match my cream winter hat, with fun fluffy faux fur on each.

6. Black yarn gloves that have little caps I can button back or pull over my fingers to make mittens. Fun, good for using phone outside, but can be more fuss than I want to deal with. Decently warm because of 2 layers.

I want to get some that have the metallic threads so I can use my phone with them on.

Mine are functional gloves only - mostly worn for early morning walking, rugby games etc... We have a shared basket and pull them out as needed.

I do have a couple of pairs of fingerless merino gloves I occasionally wear as well - good on an icy morning at work.

I bought a red leather pair with cashmere linings in the Netherlands a few years ago. German brand - Roeckl. Love them!

Love my cashmere mitts from Mongolia! Gift from a sweet friend. Sentimental :)

And my Kate Spades have fleece linings. I wear those the least - black - but keep them any way.

I need to wear glittens mostly, because my hands are very small and gloves usually are much too long in the fingers. Also, I like quick finger access for my phone and anything else I need to manipulate more carefully. I do have regular gloves but will try to phase them out over time, except for one texting pair that kind of fits okay.

Ugg gloves! I have three pair. All shearling lined. Super warm and easy to drive with them on. I also have about 3 pairs of mittens-each pair is wool with fleece lining (not Ugg brand). Mostly wear those on walks.

I am a gloves person. Most of my gloves are cashmere-lined leather. Because my hands are large, finding ones that fit is more important than the color, but I do have some beautiful colors (thank you, Nordstrom).

My gloves that are NOT cashmere-lined leather are a pair of Nike gloves I bought years ago. They might be running gloves? I found them in a ski shop and bought them for cross-country skiing. They're stretchy and warm but not WARM warm -- they expect the person wearing them to be active and not need an extreme degree of warmth -- and are a men's size S/M (which is similar to an XL or sized 8.5 women's glove). I use them for walking the dog, shoveling the sidewalk, skiing, hiking, sledding, etc etc. Any cold-weather activity where dressy is not a priority, those gloves are with me.

Like so many of the comments, mine are black leather with cashmere lining and I wear them all winter. I’m phasing black out, so I’m now looking to replace them with navy or camel, but this time, without touchscreen pads. Those toushscreen pads let the cold in, and I end up taking a glove off to text anyway. I would love to find green leather gloves with cashmere lining, but it seems to be the most elusive color of this glove type.

My winter gloves/mittens must work for dog walking. That means the palm needs to be leather to hold the leash. I have a pair of black gloves with Thinsulate lining for warmer winter days, but I wear mittens once the real winter comes.
I have a pair of shearling mittens, leather fleece mittens and down mittens. I don't think about the colour, just how warm they are.

I keep it minimal with one pair of cashmere blend lined leather gloves and one pair of gear "snow mitts".

I came across these recently while checking out this website as a possible source of Canadian made, and thought the point about moose and dear hides staying more soft and supple in the cold was interesting, as well as being Ontario made, but it's hard to spend more than $40 or so items that get lost as easily as mittens and gloves! The snow mittens I buy also have features like wrist straps, which I usually forget to use, and little hook and eye (?) bits to attach them to each other which I do use.

I wear both mittens and gloves. Even out here in the warmish wet coast, I sometimes need mitts for my long walks because I have Reynauld's.

My mitts are not particularly stylish -- they are charcoal waterproof stuff with a warm soft flannel lining (as well as interior quilting of some kind) and they have a faux fur cuff, which is actually an irritant to me because it limits whether I can wear them over or under my coat cuff (only over) and I dislike not having that option.

I also own multiple pairs of gloves. One very thin merino in navy that doubles as a liner (but they have developed a hole that may not be darn-able -- darn!!!!). One thicker red wool with leather palm. One black leather dress glove with lining. (I would prefer red or fuchsia but do not currently own a pair because I don't have enough dressy occasions to warrant the expense). One lined red knit. Two pairs of polypropolene "gear" gloves. One leather glove for biking in cold weather.

In my dream world, I'd have a navy waterproof mitt, at least one dressy leather glove in a bright colour, and a couple more of the merino versions -- they are surprisingly good.

I've pretty much given up on "fashion" mittens and gloves. I find I only get a season or two out of them before they pill, develop holes, or just start to look ratty. Or they're just not warm enough to begin with. I have two pairs of mittens -- one waterproof and insulated, one ragg wool with a soft sort of fleecy lining. And I have two pairs of gloves, which can both be worn alone or underneath the mitts to add extra warmth. The little navy blue polypropylene liner gloves are over a decade old, have been on countless backpacking trips, and get worn almost daily between October and April. They are pretty much indestructible! I'd love a backup pair but haven't been able to find them again. They are a somewhat smooth texture, rather than fuzzy, so they don't pill or stretch out. My other gloves are a pair of Outdoor Research fleece liner gloves with e-tips so I can use my phone without freezing. I've been pretty impressed with OR's e-tips. They work surprisingly well, and it's really nice to be able to take pictures without having to strip down to bare fingers! I like the fleece ones well enough that I may add another style (the green ones below) to be my designated "around town" gloves.

The one thing I don't have but would really like is a pair of sheepskin mittens. From my experience with shearling insoles for boots, I know it can't be beat for warmth, and once waterproofed with Snowseal or another wax treatment, they're pretty much waterproof.

I have one pair of mitts for very cold days. They are black, windproof, lined--and so roomy that, if needed, I can wear an unlined pair of gloves inside them.

I need and wear gloves in spring, fall and winter, and they definitely are a part of my style and chosen to match my outfits.

My collection of winter gloves include:
• 3 pairs of unlined woven wool gloves--red, purple, and grey
• Lined suede gloves in hot pink
• Unlined knitted gloves in black&silver
• Lined knitted gloves in white&grey
• Lined black pleather gloves with white stitching
• 2 pairs of lined black suede gloves--1 fur-trimmed and dressy, 1 more casual

My collection varies, depending on activity. I have mitts in boiled lambs wool with poly fleece lining for just walking about (they are huge and incredibly warm but I cannot drive or do anything in them). I keep a pair of fingerless alpaca gloves at my desk. I wear them for late nights on the computer or around the house if doing “dry” chores (laundry, vacuuming). I have a gear-ish pair from Costco that are used for driving/errands but they are more for keeping off wind. I have a pair of my dad’s old shearling gloves for firewood, snow shoveling, etc.

None of them are fashionable. Lol

I like the Ralph Lauren lined leather gloves for city wear. They are often on sale about now. I wear Lands End fleece for cool walks and ski gloves from REI for snowshoeing. As you can tell, I don’t text and walk….

Although in general I run cold, Generally my hands run warm. For most days a simple leather glove is warm enough. But for colder days or when I’m glom go to be outside for any length of time, I find these gloves from target to be just the right weight
my biggest issue with gloves is the sizing. I have short fingers and all gloves that fit around my hand are waayyy to long, & so I have never found a texting glove that fits. I’ve been searching for a custom made glove, and if anyones got a recommendation please share.

I have a big collection of nice leather gloves, but as someone with mild Reynauds, I’m sad to say most of them simply are not warm enough when I really need it.

They’re not stylish, but I am a big fan of convertible mittens — they are like partial gloves with mitten tops that flip back when you need to use your fingers, which is constant in these days of being on smartphones. I’ve found that so-called smart touch gloves are not always so effective and I just end up tearing them off in frustration.

I really rely on these convertible mittens for my walks with a camera when I need to uncover and cover my fingers quickly. They look gear-ish but that is usually fine for my purposes. They are not super easy to find, though. My current most-worn pair is by Trail Heads. My favorite pair was by Isotoner but they are getting really worn out and it doesn’t look like they’re available anymore. They had little magnets to hold the flap back when you have the fingers exposed — some pairs have tiny buttons which looks like a PITA to me.

My gloves are just fabric- probably poly or cotton blend, and they're supposedly ok for texting. I have black, tan, burgundy, and teal. I'm thinking about adding chocolate brown too.

Hotpaws mitts from Walmart that are easily 10 years old lol! They look like ones a 7 year old would wear. And I can tell you, when they wear out or get lost I will replace them with the exact same ones! My criteria for mitts is warmth, and that I won't cry when I eventually lose one because they were on my lap in the car on a mild day, and I drop one out the door into a slush puddle when I get out, without realizing.

I do have the HBC Olympic mitts too but they are nothing on my Hotpaws lol

Bj1111 agree!! Hats and muff!

I like the look of mitts, but the weather here is usually too wet for mitts to work. I prefer leather gloves, even in rain, and I currently have three pairs. Red, cognac and dusty purple. The red pair is the most versatile for my style, and hence the most frequently worn. I have already repaired them twice, and should probably start looking for a replacement pair soon..
