That said, it doesn’t have the tough/edgy elements I usually associate with gladiator sandals. The ones I can pick out by touch are the caged sandal types that enclose the foot and go up the leg to a degree, either by lacing up or just straps. But I recently found this pair (in the gunmetal) that was described as "gladiator inspired," and I can't figure out why. Does it look like a gladiator to you? If so, what are the characteristics that place it&nbsp; in this obviously pretty broad category? Also, is it frumpy or does it have possibilities as a practical flat summer option?
