I consider myself to wear jewel tones best too. In the summer I like black and white, bright pinks to rasberry to fuschia, and turquoise to purpley-blues. A lemoney yellow that skews green works (not quite neon but bright) as does a lovely orange.

Good advice from another jewel tone wearer - you can also wear navy in summer esp. with white. That's my fallback color. I also like heather gray and though I don't like pastels there is the exception of some light blues for me. Out of the brights I probably lean towards the hotter pinks/raspberry tones. Or as someone said a bright coral might work. I don't look great in turquoise so I save that for accessories only.

What Diana said!
Raspberry in linen, worn with white, cream, luggage tan, metallics.
The lighter fabrics, short sleeves, shorts, open shoes--all that reads summer instead of winter but still lets you have some consistency in color palette.
Go slightly more "fruity" in colors but still not pastel. Deep pinks instead of burgundies. Or, prints that mix deep jewel tones + a lighter tone, and white also work well. These can also be good season-transition prints.
Wear the "best " more saturated colors near face and wear white, beige, gray for bottoms and footwear.

Another person who looks best in jewel tones who found that a clear, true orange can be a fabulous summer workhorse when paired with optical whites, cobalt blues, and denim. I looked for clear, bright versions of my favorite jewel tones for my summer wardrobe and also found that pairing these versions of jewel tones with white--or colorblocking with another clear jewel tone--made most of my favorites quite wearable in the summer. For example, a ruby red or sapphire blue with white looks fabulous as does color blocking sapphire blue with emerald green or turquoise.

I still wear a lot of the same dark, saturated colors in summer that I do in winter, but I try to lighten it up with some white pieces, bright accessories (belts, shoes, etc in brights or light metallics), and sheer fabrics (looks lighter even if it's black). And never underestimate the power of bare legs and arms to lighten up a look!

Thanks for the tips - I'm not a lavender fan, but could possibly like aqua. I will try orange again... And yes - maybe white pants - just to find the right pair!

You and me too!

And what Ornella said. I liked deep brights in summer fabrication - a cotton or linen button down in a deep bright or jewel tone with other summer pieces is still summery.

I fell in love with orange too - which normally seems to not work on people with good jewel-tone coloring. I don't know if it worked on me - but I wore and liked it (maybe coral?)

What about tones of aqua or raspberry? Is a lilac purple too pastel for you?

Not much time to write now, but your color preferences sound very much like mine. I favour jewel colours in summer just as much as in colder months and pastels almost never. This year I was all about white - and white jeans in particular. They 'summerize' everything.

But white skirts, button downs, white-on-white, that will scream summer.

Hi ladies

Over this past Winter I managed to establish that I wear jewel colours very well... which to my mind works well in.... well Winter. And that is a good thing because I like those colours. I am not sure those same colours work well as a Summer palette. I also know I wear white fairly well but I have not yet found much in bright white that I love. Every time I go into the stores to look for summer tops I am bombarded by neons of the citron, pink and orange variety and in their shadow loads of pastels. My instinct tells me that the lumo colours probably don't work for me (and they scream short term trendoid which puts me off) so I tend not to even bother with trying on. The pastels just don't appeal much to my style.

I would love your thoughts and suggestions!
