What a nightmare. I'm kind of wondering if it is the color causing the problem. I have a neon pink work out top that bleeds color constantly. I wear it to yoga and every time, it stains my towel. It doesn't happen with any of the other colors of the same top. (Btw, I saw your post on the shorts. I haven't washed the kelly green ones yet but will let you know if I have any problems.)

Your sink would be fine if it is glazed ceramic. All you did was dye a film on top. Vinegar would have worked too!

I did learn the hard way marble is porous and grabs stains!

Oh, my, goodness! I didn't even consider that clothes might dye a sink pink (you need to write a song about that). I'm so glad you got it all out, and thanks for the tip on the CLR, that makes perfect sense the way he explained it. Now, get thee a soaking bucket!

I will start by saying DH does a LOT of the heavy housework and yard work and remodeling and dishes. He is a working machine!

So, today while he was out working on a remodel project of ours, I'm at
home manning the office and I decided to soak a neon pink Gap t-shirt
in the bathroom sink. I wanted to "set" the color. Well, to my great
dismay and utter shock, when I pulled it out of the sink and drained
the water - the sink was PINK. Oh my. The beautiful, practically new
white sink is stained PINK.

I was freaking out. I tried soft scrub. I tried hyrdrogen peroxide.
They both helped some but the pink was STUBBORN. I tried more soft
scrub and added bleach this time. I let it soak for a a while. I
scrubbed more. It still had a pink hue but had gotten much better. I
said a little prayer and let it soak again with more bleach and water.
It was much better by the time DH arrived home. But I was worried.

Funny thing, he walks in the door and I say "Honey, I'm sorry I dyed
the sink pink." and he laughed and said "You should have called me. I
could have told you to try CLR, you probably just dyed the calcium
deposits pink."

Well, drained again it looked pretty white to me, but he did the CLR treatment and sure enough it was back to it's bright white.

Whew!

Not sure if just the CLR would have worked but the last hour I spent trying to clean it was a lesson well learned.

Don't try to "set" dye in your ceramic sink.

And appreciate DH for all he does. :-)
