Thanks ladies!

Angie has spoken so I will hold onto the dress for a bit and play around with styling it. I don't mind wearing a bold print, but it should be a stylish urban bold print, as opposed to a 'why is that person wearing wrapping paper?"

The striped top is semi-tucked, which is of course, impossible to see in the photo.

I thought the sweater was supposed to be a tunic - but yes, I want to wear it with the Spanx faux leather leggings.

Eliza J makes a number of dresses with different patterns but in the same style/cut--if you don't like this pattern but like the cut I'm sure you can find a different one that's more suitable.

What they said!! I'd hang onto the dress for a little while and consider. It is very flattering on you. But if you don't like contrast, it won't make you happy.

The sweater will work like a tunic on you -- fab!

It's hard for me to tell about the other one, but the fit looks good from what I can see.

Killer dress. Give it some time. Don't send it back yet. The print might grow on you.

The asymmetrical sweater can work well as a tunic over leggings for petites. Good job.

The fit on the dress seems good, but I agree with the others that a pattern that doesn't thrill you from the start is unlikely to win you over later. The striped top seems short on you. It's hard to see the tunic very well in your photo, but it sounds like you really like it.

I would say return the dress if you are in doubt. It looks like it's flattering, but when you have discomfort about the way something looks from the start, you are unlikely to wear it. I like it best without the jacket.

Sylvie, I think the dress looks good on you! But from my own experience, I will say this: if you don't prefer a high-contrast print, it's not going to look less high-contrast over time. If it were a top, which would be mostly covered by a topper, it would be manageable. But a dress in a print you're not crazy about is harder to wear.
Looks like you did well with the fit on everything. The jeans could be hemmed easily enough, right?

Would love your opinion on these, if you can see past the crap photos.

1)&2) Eliza J dress: This fits well and is really comfortablel but is the allover print too overwhelming? I thought it was going to be tetris-y but the white is very high contrast. I tried the denim jacket to break it up.

3) VC stripe top: I needed to size up to a Petite Large to get a satisfactorily loose, drapey fit in this. It's too bodycon in the smaller sizes.

4) Halogen asymmetric sweater: Angie doesn't recommend this sweater for petites and it is a little itchy, but I think I'll really enjoy wearing it with leggings or tight jeans.

I'm wearing the R&B maroon jeans in 3&4, but they can't really be seen in the photos. The only issue I have with them is the length - they are too long to be worn unrolled and have too much bulk when worn rolled.

I'm thinking I need to wait for all my stuff to come in and then do some death matches for jeans/specific tops/dresses, etc, because I can't keep everything.

Thanks in advance!
