For me: I'm not buying anything - except during my upcoming trip to Amsterdam, if something special catches my eye. Other than that, my wallet should remain closed. I never want to stifle creativity though, so if I feel like sewing or making things, I'm still going to do that, even though it'll add to my current wardrobe. I'm actually hoping that not shopping will encourage me to design and sew a lot more than I have been.</p> <p>When I look at what I have in my closet, I really have no need to shop throughout spring/summer, so my goal really is to shop my closet until the weather cools down. (I did go on a bit of a buying spree for Boxing Day which fell right before my SYC started on Jan 1. </p> <p>I struggled a bit here and there and made the odd purchase during the time (and felt guilty about it too!) but am very happy I completed it. It has changed how I shop and how I view buying clothing dramatically! </p> <p>Think of the *reasons* you want to SYC and then make up your own rules. Post your rules (for accountability) and invite others to join you. </p> <p>Not me though, 3 months in 2011 was enough for a little while! I have $11.50 spare to spend out of June's budget lol. I do need, and will buy if I find it, a floppy sun hat no matter if it runs into July's budget or not. Other than that, I am strictly not buying anything. When SYB I included everything from sunglasses to bras to running shoes. That is me, though. I know some don't count gear or accessories.
