I'm still in, but more because my budget necessitates it than that I really want to be. This week was a long, hard one (nothing horrible, just normal frustrations), and over the weekend I found myself wanting to pull out my Nordstrom card and buy something to cheer myself up. I resisted, though, and now I'm happy that I did. As the weather starts to warm up a bit, I can pull some of my lighter pieces out, and that should help me feel a little less bored with my clothes.

I realized that shopping for me doesn't really seem to be about filling holes or finding things that I need. It's about having something new. Anything new. This explains why I have some truly random items that I now look at and say, "What was I thinking??"

I'm still in - and plan to go until at least March 31st. I haven't fallen off of the bandwagon even once. I have a HUGE hole in my shoe wardrobe in that I don't have a pair of basic black pumps - I took one pair to the swap party that wouldn't stay on my feet - and another pair to the thrift store that hurt my feet - and so now, I keep thinking that I'm going to NEED a pair one of these days - but so far, I really haven't! I am continuing to enjoy wearing the clothes in my closet - I am getting to know my wardrobe and developing a sense of familiarity and respect for it that I have never had before! I also am not near as down on myself as I used to be for being such an impulse shopper - I've discovered that even though most of the time I bought without a plan or purpose, instinctively I knew what I was doing! I have so many wonderful clothes and combinations in my closet and it has been fun to just relax and enjoy them!

I fell off the wagon - strategically, though. Angie gave me permission to cheat and buy a Carissa Rose dress that went dramatically on sale. And now I'm back on the wagon until April 1 (or... whenever, afterwards.)

I am losing weight through Healthy Habits, and I'm at that stage where my current rotation of clothes are just starting to look and feel better, but they aren't getting loose yet. I actually don't want to have to lose so much that I have to re-purchase my beloved clothes - I'd just like to be more toned, a little sleeker, and I'm open to to some strategic tailoring if necessary.

I'm still in, after my falling off the wagon in Jan, twice, I'm happy to go an entire week with no purchases! I am starting to drool though, spring is starting to come in stores and I have more than one item on my wish list from last year.

Fleh. I am struggling daily because February is a really hard winter month for me in general. And I did sort of crack again - but it was with my credit at the consignment store. I went in to drop off more stuff, and lo, there was a BURBERRY skirt in my size in a grey wool, and I had enough credit to get it. So I did, because I couldn't pass up owning something from Burberry. Am wearing it today. It's probably made for someone twice my height but can't be shortened due to a banded hem. I love it anyway.

Sigh.

I am so off the bandwagon for SYC, but am still cheering for everyone else! As I documented here: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-new-shoes I just couldn't let the perfect workhorse shoes pass me by, and I'm also waiting for my order from The Limited (discussed here: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ing-my-syc ) to show up so that I can see what fits right and lives up to its potential. I am, however, staying picky about quality, fit, color, cost per wear, style, and versatility. I'm finding the amazon wishlist an easy way to keep track of the items that have caught my attention, and I regularly go through the list to look for price reductions, reassess how much I really need each item, and just see what's still available. Right now there are only 10 items on my wishlist, which is much better than the 60+ I had there a couple weeks ago when I was just adding anything that had some potential. Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say that I'm no longer SYC, but I'm still being discerning with my purchases!

Well, I'm still in, but I did "slip"...I found a pair of red flats that are a wardrobe hole so I picked them up. Still have to try them out at home to make sure they fit just right and also look just right. I've got fussy feet and this year I vowed to replace my not so good shoes with better quality and do my feet a favor.

However...

While I was shopping for my hubby a peacock inspired top jumped into my shopping cart and followed me home! Not a need at *all* (unless you count the fact that I think I *need* a couple of dramatic statement pieces in my very casual wardrobe) purely a *want*. I have had my eye on this shirt for a while and it was on sale for nine bucks! Sorry, but the bargain shopper in me could. not. resist...

Pics will follow when I've gotten some time to style it a bit.

Oh, and a polka dotted scarf to replace the one I have also made it's way into my cart...LOL

I'm done for now though, and pushing through for March 31.

And I thought this was going to be EASY....

My goal was March 31 and I have had a little slippage because I have had several wardrobe pieces all of a sudden get too big, including shoes, of all things. So I had to replace my red pumps, and while I was at it I saw the same fab pumps in navy, and one thing led to another, and... erp. And then my skirts got too big and the Halogen seamed skirts showed back up and I ordered them in a few colors. And my brown pants got too big and I replaced them and threw in a navy pair for good measure. Andt then there was a sale on trench coats and my trench coat got too big and was donated months ago, and that's really a "need," and...

But I am shopping my budget and I'm not keeping anything that's not a 10. Still waiting for deliveries so don't know what the actual situation is at this point. So far I haven't ended up keeping a single thing that I've ordered except the striped top I confessed to last week!

Happy Valentine's SYCers!
Is anyone else still in? I'm trying to remember what the original goal was- March 1? We're almost there, in that case!
I am shopping my budget, rather than my closet. My goal for February was to replace my worn out and now too big bras. This week, I scored great deals on both a sports bra and my favorite every day bra off ebay. I am hoping to add two more bras at similar discounts before the end of the month. I actually went out shopping a few times this week. I just really didn't know what size I was anymore, so trying on a bunch of stuff helped me to figure that out better, but I wasn't really tempted to buy anything. I'm focusing on replacing workhorse pieces that are getting too big.
