I don't have any specifics, but I look for a high rise leg and wide-set straps. Stay away from anything that cuts horizontally across your legs as this will shorten and widen your legs visually, emphasizing the hips. The wider set the straps the wider your shoulders will look and thus will visually balance your hip.

Imogen had some ideas for different body types on her blog
http://www.insideoutstyleblog......-type.html

To be honest, when I have to buy a bathing suit, I go into a specialty shop and resign myself to trying on everything in the shop. If the staff is any good, they should be able to help cull through their stock and bring you suits that work with your particular body shape.

I've also had good luck with Land's End. I was skeptical about buying a suit online, but, surprisingly both suits that I ordered fit perfectly and were very flattering. And the price was good enough that I kept both.

I'll bump this post, so maybe some of the other ladies may chime in.

Hi Maga -- here are some of Angie's posts on swimsuits. Some of them are several years old, so the exact suits may not be available now, but the pictures should give you an idea of what to look for:

http://youlookfab.com/2006/04/.....it-part-1/

http://youlookfab.com/2011/05/.....swimsuits/

http://youlookfab.com/2008/04/.....-swimsuit/

http://youlookfab.com/2010/05/.....-coverage/

Incidentally, at this time of year when people are actually going on vacations that involve swimming, most retailers have moved on to fall merchandise. You might have success at Lands' End, where they have suits for many, many body types (and everything's on sale right now!): http://www.landsend.com/ix/swi.....ageSize=72

I need a new one piece swimsuit. Has anyone seen one that woud look good on a pear shape (not extremly pear, but still, a bit narrow shoulders, small bust, legs on the shorter site)? I live in Europe, but U.S would be also fine. I would be grateful for your help!
