I am a rectangle too and I think short torso, too -- so I always go for bikini (even though I am one of those old women haha). I am small chested, so I also love being able to buy the pieces separately. JCrew has really solid quality tops and bottoms that frequently go on sale.
For some reason I am thinking a halter style would add visual length to your torso -- and possibly have better support?

I saw your other post and the consideration that you think you're a rectangle. I'm a rectangle but taller - and I find one piece and tankinis both work well.

Hi! I can help with the large bust aspect of your question. I'm 5'1" and a 34DD, so I can tell you no matter what the cut of the suit I'm more comfortable if there is sufficient support. Shoshanna brand swimwear is good for small band/large cup girls. However, at my height I could never get one of her one pieces to work for me because of the torso length. but they are certainly worth a try and sometimes you can get a great deal on brand new past season suits on ebay. I've found both her PS/DD and M/DD sizes work for me in the tops. I also have a shirred one piece in a fantastic print from Coco Rave that has held up for years. They sell their swimsuits by cup size and the prints are fun and not "old." I hope this helps!

What swimsuits are best for rectangle body types? I'm not a tall rectangle, only 5 feet and my torso is shorter than my legs. I would like something that could possible elongate my torso. I also have a semi-large bust (not flat, but not huge) so maybe something with support. I'm looking for bikinis or one piece or tankinis! I like prints, not solids too much.. I also like things with unique designs or patterns. Also, I'm 21 so something that wouldn't make me look like an older woman. lol
