I have 5 Sweet Pea tops and have never had dye problems. I wonder if washing with vinegar added to the rinse will help. You look great in that top. I'm glad you can get the dye out of your jeans.

April: Leather really soaks up the dye from the jeans. My dark wash Seven jeans made my yellow leather couch green and I had to buy a special cleaner to get it off. It is getting better now after 10+ washes.

Shiny: I wash it with black shirts just for that possibility. It's a funny story about your GAP dress. I can't believe they still couldn't get the color processing right.

Angie: Luckily, the dye comes off when I wash the jeans with minor residue on stitches of belt loops. It probably is that particular color causing the issue. I still like this top.

Oh no! I’m sorry, LOP. Rotten luck. LOVE the top with the white jeans, though. Does the rubbed off dye come off?

Perhaps it was just that dye lot? I have not heard of anyone else with this problem yet. But I shall ask around.

Yes, the dye runs when you wash them - i.e., turns the water whatever shade the top is. Wash one at a time.

I have had my red top rub off on one of my white cami's... turning it pink in places. I wore that top several times before it happened. It happened when in Paris, on a day when it was seriously hot and I was sweating a lot. Ruined the cami (I still have it - so I can wear it just with that top!)

But it wasn't as bad as a GAP dress I had once... I brought it to Spain to wear as a bathing suit cover-up. I put it on right out of the shower, and within minutes, I ended up with blue dye all over my hands, armpits... every where.... it was quite funny. The dye took two days to wear off my skin!!! Needless to say, that dress ended up in the trash!

LOP -- I seem to remember Shiny posting that the colors on a Sweet Pea top of hers ran when she washed it. I haven't had this happen either with any of the three SP tops I have. So sorry!

I did get a pair of jeans (that ended up going back) that came with a warning about not sitting on "white leather sofas" while wearing them. You would think the problem of setting dyes might have been solved by this stage in human evolution...

Hi! I mentioned this as a comment on Angie's blog, but I haven't heard from anyone else that she had the same problem.

Whenever I wear one of my Sweet Pea tops, I have the color all over my white jeans or skirts. So I only wear it with dark jeans even if I like it better paired with lighter colors. Is there a way to stop it from coloring my jeans?

This is the top I'm talking about: http://i581.photobucket.com/al.....MG0766.jpg

Thank you!
