I'm glad the sleeves of #2 were not annoying because I was going to mention that!

I love #1. Great fit and a no-nonsense silhouette! Does it work well with the new seafoam puffer and old cobalt leather jacket?

Well, I cut the tags on the second one and wore it yesterday. I was a little worried the loose sleeve would be annoying (it has a slight bell sleeve cut), but I just folded it up when I needed my sleeves out of the way to cook (I had a black long sleeve layering tee underneath too). I wore it with new black AG Harper straight jeans. No pics though. I liked the column of black with just the stripes in the sweater as an accent. Stayed in my slippers all day, which are also black.

The second one is very flattering and I prefer it, but I do not discount the first... I can see it being a good bridge piece, filling in a lot of outfits.

I like them both Janet ... I agree the first one is a little lighter and brighter than your usual, but I think it works great with your slightly lighter hair and of course those blues and turquoisey colours make your eyes pop. The lavender looks amazing too. I vote for keeping both if that feels good to you!

Thanks for the feedback, all!

I’ll consider further — it would not be unreasonable to keep both, as they were on sale and a fair price, and I thinned out my winter knitwear considerably over the last couple of years, ending up with mostly solid color sweaters.

Agree with Suntiger that the second one is more you, but sometimes I like a more classic piece to juxtapose with an interesting jacket, jean, shoe, etc. And the stripes are your colors. I think you should try styling the first one. Second one is a slam dunk.

Agree with suntiger, the 2nd sweater seems so you, BUT, i love #1 on you, the fit looks great and i love those colors for you.
Back to #2, i it has a ski sweater feel to me, and really like it with the straight leg jeans, but i imagine it will look great with boot cuts as well.

I like the first one and your vision of how it will work in your wardrobe and I like the second one even better. The pattern placement pulls the eye up towards your face without distracting and the solid lower part especially with the darker jeans makes you look long and tall.

Suntiger, you do have a point that the second one is more “me.” The first one is a bit more preppy. Heh, anything with black is by definition usually more “me.”

Interesting you said you like high necklines with toppers. On me they seem blocky together!

Delayed sweater order from Nordstrom arrived, so I thought I’d share:

- the striped Vince Camuto —
I like this a lot. It’s basic and a little classic for me, but for a jeans-sweater-jacket ensemble, it will be perfect.
Imagine it under my cobalt or dark teal moto jackets, or the new seafoam green puffer. It’s soft and lightweight, the quality feels good for the price point, no itch, and the colors are perfect for me. Crew necks are not my most favorite, but I will wear them if every other detail makes me happy. And sometimes I like a higher neckline under jackets. Apologies for not styling — just threw it on with my joggers (which actually works).

- metallic knit-front sweater - I didn’t even take photos. It was surprisingly short in the body, even though otherwise it fit ok. Returning. Someday I will find my metallic sweater, but it’s not this one. Maybe next year!

- black and lavender stripe turtleneck -It’s soft and cozy, and not heavy at all. No itch, not even on the turtleneck, which I usually can’t abide anymore unless it’s a loose one like this. I like the colors and the style very much. The quality is probably not for massive longevity, but I don’t expect that of a $60 sweater. The hem has one of those edges that rolls up slightly, but that’s not a deal-breaker — it’s a little RATE. And the sleeves wrinkle a little with wear. I like that it’s different from my other sweaters, and that the stripes give it a bit of a sporty vibe. It would probably look better with bootcut jeans. What do you think of this one?
