I lay my sweater out on a flat surface and draw the comb <i>lightly</i> over the sweater. Works for me on all my good sweaters. I found my comb in a wool shop but I see them in department stores, on Amazon, and a ton of other places. It comes with three different types of heads to be used according to fabric type. I am quite happy with it. Just a word of caution though. I hold my Gleener fairly low at the neck part so as not to put too much pressure on it.
