I did a half hearted bid and ended up winning it. So we will see how it fits. I do actually think I could use both colors, but I really was intending for the dark to be a winter sweater as well. Maybe with my 3/4 black top under it could be. Stay tuned!

I like that not-quite-anything length sleeve myself, but I know I'm in the minority on that. From the photo I agree with Denise that it looks more like crochet so it'll be a bit stiffer. Totally different looking than the white one you just got! But do you need both a dark and a light deconstructed-type sweater? If you will wear the white one a LOT, enough that you'll wish you had another to rotate with then it might be worth getting. Also, by summer will you be in FL or Tahoe?

Well, I got the white yesterday, but now I am waffling on the grey/black one. I think it's the sleeve. Not quite long, not quite short. I wonder if I would be 'settling' or if it will be great and I won't know if I don't try. Argh.

the ikat would be great! you could do white or black cami depending on the look you want. then you'r set for black-white spring trend! ahead of the curve!

eta...how many !!!! is that!

Thx BJ, I can see how a contrasting color might be more interesting. I could do grey, or black or a nude cami, all of which I have in addition to the white one. I do have ikat pants, but not camo.

EDIT: I just bought the white. Waiting on the grey/black until tomorrow. I did set aside $50 for a hi low sweater in Feb. so I am only sort of cheating on my 12 for 12 if I get both for the same $$$, right?

you could do a white cami or you could you a black/dark cami with dark pants. i think it would look good with camo pants...am i misremembering that you have a pair?

Yeah, it's sort of a gamble situation I think . . . the seller does offer all measurements and so I can easily take out my off white open weave one from this summer and compare (pic 2). It will be an oversize fit for me (17.5 shoulder to shoulder)
I'm also SORELY tempted by this one (pic 1) but I already have white, although not a long sleeve.

Love the crochet-type detail on the sweater and think it has great potential. As for how it will drape, I think you're going to have to try it to see.

I really like this. I think sizing is key to it fitting how you want. I love the idea of the over sized fit for this. Does the seller info describe how it's meant to fit?

Una, that's funny!
Denise, MATERIAL: 56% Acrylic/ 19% Nylon/ 17% Cotton/ 5% Wool/ 3% Other Fibers.

I keep coming back to some version of a deconstructed or variegated open knit sweater in my browsing. Most of them unfortunately cost way too much, like Inhabit or Helmut Lang.

It's hard to say without feeling it, but generally looser knits like that drape pretty nicely, even if the yarn is a little on the thick side. Really thick yarn will end up looking bulky even if it's technically draping nicely.

Is this something you bought? Can you put it on to show us how it looks?

I have had my eye out for an open weave black or dark grey sweater. Stumbled upon this one. Just not sure it will drape as well as my white open weave one does. Am I on to something or will the weight of the knit pull it down (it's a medium and I usually wear small so I think the oversize could work in my favor - 24 inches long.)
