This post proves the value of:

- the search function
- photos
- the YLF community!

I just received these grey (last year's) plaid Kuts from Amazon (super cheap), and I was wondering if I should keep because I could only get my regular size (4) and they fit like regular skinnies. Voila! All the answers are here.

Thank you, YLF, Greg, Angie, Suz, and Una. Keeping them.

They're a different fabrication, Ummlila. The dark grey ones have a high poly content and are much "stretchier" but less likely to bag, if that makes sense.

I have these, not grey but the cream, also size 4, which is my normal size. I found that they stretched out after a few hours. Not too big but definitely not a super skinny look.

I think I could get away with these at work too! Which would be ideal since I need more interesting work pants for winter...

Yeah, if you are going to wear them tucked into boots for the most part, then that is the way to go -- just keep them. I don't know if they are "current" -- but they are hardly "dated." And in our climate, we absolutely need variety in our winter jeans, since that is what we are wearing for months and months and months. I loved them as a winter pick me up. My only complaint is that the pattern is so subdued it is almost unnoticeable. I would like them a bit brighter. Hence, this year's model. :)

Ok that makes total sense! Becuase they do not seem like they would slouch. They fit my skinny calves nicely too - some skinnies just look stiffly big around the calf instead of scrunching. If you still consider yours current then I will keep because I will be wearing them the same way you do, fall through winter with boots.

Thanks to you and Tanya!

ETA: you might not get the sausage casing look with your slender calves. I would get the sausage casing look at any size in this fabrication, because of the way I'm built, and the way the fabric clings. So that's why I prefer these jeans worn as "breeches" -- i.e. tucked into boots. I must say they are super comfy!! As comfy as leggings, in fact! Oh, and the fabric seems to hold up very well.

#1: This year's Kut Mias -- sized up.

#2/ #3: Diana Kut skinnies (different cut, no pun intended) -- regular size.

#4: Last year's Kut Mias -- sized down one. Very skinny.

Angie advised me not to size up in those because the fabrication is so stretchy that it doesn't "slouch" (at least on a body like mine) when it is sized up. It just creates that elephant skin look on the legs. Plus, the size down was the only available size at the sale price. So I took a chance and they work great. Normally I wear them tucked into boots, BTW, not like this -- but this shows how they fit better.

I have the last years grey model as well. I got my regular size, 2, and they fit me like normal skinnies do: not skintight like jeggings but not loose either. They relaxed a small amount with wear, but not too much.

Ah -- okay -- which ones did you get? Last year's is the one with sheen. The dark grey, then....

I am talking about different jeans. I'm talking about this year's plaid -- the yellow and grey.

LAST year's I ordered a size DOWN on. And they fit and they are super, super comfy and warm (great for your climate...). But they are definitely skinny. Like leggings on me!! I wear them exclusively in winter and mostly tucked into boots.

The fabrication of this year's is totally different. Much more "denim" like, not as stretchy and sleek.

I will post some pics.

So my normal size in Kuts in 4 and that's what I got. And they fit, but more like traditional skinnies. I will have to revisit your pics and maybe post one of my own. I love the color and sheen but I don't want to look ridiculous if this is no longer a current fit.

By comparison my new Hudson's are a 26. I generally size up too but I wanted a pair of real skinnies to replace all my worn out Gap leans which I wear with tunics in winter.

My "normal" size in Kut is 2. (It corresponds to my normal size in other jeans and pants, like GAP, BR, J. Crew, etc. In premium jeans I am anywhere from 25 to 27 depending on the brand, cut, and/ or fit that I am looking for -- skinny, slouchy, etc.)

I ordered a size up in those pants for a slouchier fit. (Size 4) I haven't yet worn (except to try on and cross the border, LOL). I don't think they will stretch a lot because they are not very snug. I need to wear a belt to keep them on.

My Kut Diana skinnies are size 2 and they DO stretch out enough to make them fit like slim BF jeans on me after an hour or two of wear. I actually like the fit of them. Aida's do the same -- but Angie has other clients whose Dianas never stretched a bit. SO...YMMV.

ETA: Increasingly I find that I am sizing up in my jeans, as a matter of course. I seem to like the slouchier fit. So I also bought a pair of GAP real straights in white to wear as cut offs this summer --- and sized up to a 4 in those, too.

Also sized up in my CoH Racers (to a 27...but they do fit very slim anyway); sized up in my Rag and Bone Dre jeans, too. Hmmm.

I ordered Suz's grey plaid Kuts from Amazon to get free shipping and because the price finally dropped way low. I ordered my usual size in this brand ( which is a size down from my usual size) and they fit well but snugly, like old school skinnies. Do they stretch? If not, I think I'll return - they are out of other sizes. I don't need them to be slouchy but I also don't want the sausage casing look.

TIA!
