But yesterday I was poking around the local shops and tried on these trousers on a whim. They have a nice drape, and a great low-contrast navy/black/small bit of tan windowpane plaid. I have thought about a pair of trousers to throw into the mix as a break from all my denim, but have always defaulted to solid black. </p> <p>To my surprise these work really well on me! I’m not an easy fit in trousers. But these skim the hip nicely, are easy through the thighs, have a moderate rise, fit the waist without need for tailoring, and are long enough to wear with a low heel! So they came home with me. They’d dress up of course if I need that, but I plan on wearing them casually with tees, denim or leather jackets, sneakers, and boots. </p> <p>A lesson in trying things when you see them, even if it’s not what you’re actively looking for! </p>
