I do this all the time with camisoles + cardigans. I usually wear a cami under my cardigans since I have found that a short sleeve shirt just adds bulk to my upper arms (which is a problem area for me - I have FAT arms). There's no way I'm taking the cardigan off so I don't really worry about the bra straps!

Might be a long shot but if the bra straps match the dress no one will know the dress just doesn't have 2 straps?

Yeah... this would probably be a look I would sport mostly on warmer spring days, but not hot summer days when I'd want to take off my sweater.

Thanks for the thoughts!

Well, you can also wear a funky bra and let the straps show. It is a totally Angie approved look.
On the other hand, you don't seem to be interested in doing that since your want to cover your arms. In that case, I think a lightweight, short-sleeve cardi with strapless sleeves would be your solution.

No, I wouldn't invest in something that restricts you so much. However, Angie did offer this recommendation in another post to layer a tank that covers your bra straps under the spaghetti strap dress. If you are willing to do that, I think it would work. If not, I would not waste the money on something where you can't take your sweater off on a hot day.

Just make sure that you don´t have to take the cardi off. I do that often with dresses and jackets.

I don't see why it would matter if the bra straps don't show, but as Dawn says, I would not be comfortable taking the cardi off if it got warm. I plan to get fitted for a strapless bra soon, although I am very busty. 85% of the support is in the band anyway, so it shouldn't matter if there aren't any straps. Might work for you too.

I do this the entire time during the summer but I make sure that there is no way that it would be possible for my bra straps to be show by either belting or buttoning the cardigan closed. The problem lies in whether you are going to be too warm in a cardigan and remove it. If I think that could be an issue, I wear a strapless bra that day or wear a dress which covers my bra straps completely.

So I really love spaghetti strap dresses. Then tend to be cut in a way that hides my tummy pooch but shows a bit of cleavage (my best asset). However, I also like to hide my arms and I need the support of a good bra.

What do you think about wearing a regular bra, a spaghetti strap dress, and a cardigan? I thought it might be ok since the bra straps won't show beneath the cardi. Or this is a total fashion "don't"?

Thanks!

BTW, an example of a dress I mean is: http://www.zappos.com/lost-jacinda-dress-magenta
