Not bending to common wisdom is why I had really short hair for a long time after midlife. I've just done a lot of observing because I was personally dissatisfied with how I was coming across in photos when I had&nbsp;a pixie,&nbsp;and I think there's a&nbsp;finer line between androgynous and spunky-looking than I used to believe. I got it cut right before my Ireland trip, and although it was not a super-short pixie, its being at its shortest truly was a blessing for being outdoors, in &amp;out of rain showers, NO hairdryer, wearing hats and hoods.
