It was very effective protection against the sun. It was surprising, a week in Hawaii and I didn't get sunburned at all!</p> <p>Consumer Reports recently mentioned ineffective sunscreens, including one from CVS. I bought some all-natural sunscreen for my DD and I, but it wasn't effective, and we got more sun than we bargained for even though we kept reapplying it. We're very lucky we didn't burn. We used a CVS brand the rest of the time, and I bought some Hawaiian Tropic SPF 50 at the resort when we realized we needed something a lot better. Unfortunately the biodegradable sunscreen we purchased locally was not effective and we had terrible sunburns after the first day. I don't live near the ocean (I live in the desert) and don't plan on getting in the ocean any time soon.
