I guess you are taller than me, which I really envy you on.<br /> If you look closely, you will see that they waist of the first dress hits me a bit higher than that of the second one. The second is almost perfect in that respect, and I wish the first one had an inch longer bodice. As you say, I have learned to live with it.</p> <p>I do not know where you live, but what I have found is that European brands/designers tend to cut their clothes longer and narrower than American. So do Canadian brands such as Club Monaco. ( I guess French Connection is a European brand too.) I have had most luck with with shaped dresses in these brands. I have a fit and flare like dress that is higher than my actual narrow part and I am justifying it the same as you--make my legs look longer and the poof hides my hips but it still feels weird with a belt line on my ribs--it doesn't help that it is a size 6 on a 5'11 long waisted frame. I really like the top parts of your dresses here and wondered how they were fitting. Yes, I am very long waisted, though I am average height (5'6"). The smallest part of most dresses hits me higher than my narrowest point. I am a big fan of wrap and jersey dresses - they make finding a dress that fits easier. However, the structured, woven dresses, with some shape can be a nightmare! Fit&amp;flare ones, like these sundresses, are not that bad, because even if the waist of the dress hits me higher than it should be that is obscured by the full skirt. I sometimes even like that because it makes my short legs appear longer. However, real sheath dresses can be terrible, as they start to curve for the hips before my body does, I end up with a lot of extra material around my waist. So it is hit and miss I guess.
