It was at a golf/contry club. The groom works in my husband's lab. I knew I wanted to attend for a little bit as I knew it would be important to the groom and his family that the groom's 'boss' so to speak would attend. Most importantly my husband really wanted to attend to acknowledge a wonderful, diligient young man with aspirations to go on to med school.</p> <p>I had a bad day friday and rested the whole day not going in to work and other than doing my hair kept it quiet on saturday during the day so we could attend. DH wore a suit, I wore a strappy "lingerie/pajamas as evening wear" salmon colored dress from ASOS with antique gold/pewter? heels, a gold lace wrap and turquoise earrings and clutch.</p> <p>The groom had forgotten to send us an official invitation ( we had received the save the date card) so we were not aware of the bride's colors. It turned out that the bride's colors were black and white with touches of red. Shockingly almost 75% of the women were wearing black and white patterned dresses. Now I don't know if this is a faux pas but it ended up looking like a color co-ordinated event !<br /> The bridesmaids were in black cocktail dresses and pearls. The groomsmen had red ties.</p> <p>Many young girls ( young teens) wore flip flops which frankly I thought was in bad taste. if you are invited to a formal wedding at a country club, pelase atleast wear sandals.</p> <p>About ten minutes into being seated I started sweating profusely and one of the ladies seated at our table moved closer to me and quietly started asking if I was feeling ok. I was really appreciative of her reaching out to me. We did not stay very long but I was happy to have been there for DH and a wonderful young man celebrating his nuptials to his beautiful, talented bride.</p> <p>Now resting today and tomorrow, D-day is tueday. Merci for all your support and outpourings of support through posts and pm's.</p> <p>P.S: it was hot so DH removed his suit jacket after we danced to a couple songs. </p>
