I think 13-15 plus your kirtas seems like a good amount plus if you add in tanks for layering or to wear alone, you should be covered. If you can find a tank you like, maybe it will come in multiple colors and you could duplicate the style? I do that with basic things like tanks and it is simpler that running all over to basically buy the same thing elsewhere.

Remember to check in at the resell shops for accessories and belts - you have found a few nice things that way and might help the budget go farther. Plus sometimes you get a more unique item that way.

Claire: Thanks! I would love to add in some fun belts :-)

VC: Hmm, I will try on denim shorts and then decide on that. Yeah, that is a great point. I could do with some belts. Thanks!

Great list! Like Mirp mentioned, I find even denim shorts too hot half the time, so I don't end up wearing mine as often. The denim skirt is actually 'cooler' (temp wise) for some reason. I guess because it's not as close to my body. I'm planning on getting a denim skirt that isn't the 'five pocket' jeans-style because I wasn't crazy about how that style looked on me (still have pounds to lose here).

I also like Claire's suggestion to keep an eye out for some summer-y accessories - it's true that there aren't really many opportunties in summer for layering/third piece etc.

I don't have any good suggestions because I'm behind this curve myself, but I think you're off to a great start here. Thanks for sharing - I'd also like a metallic flat/loafer and nude sandal too!

This looks like a great list Kirti. I would save a bit of the budget for some accessories, maybe a trendy bangle or belt. I have just bought some of these and they really help make a simple top and bottom look like a complete outfit when it's too hot to add that "third piece".

Angie: I have about 13-14, plus about 4 cotton kurtas. I am also planning to add in 3-4 tanks. Would that be enough? I will try to add in 2-3 more dresses! Thank you :-)

Zap: I wear almost only cotton. I haven't tried linen yet, but I probably will since it is so popular in France :-)

Thanks Mer

Given the lack of a/c I suggest sticking to natural fabrics as well. Linen, cotton are on the top of my list. I often find that loose fit dresses are best at keeping cool in hot summers.

The Summers in the South of France are hot and quite long with very little a/c. You need quite a substantial Summer stash!

May I suggest bumping up the dresses and the tops. You mentioned that you have plenty of tops, but you need lots of tops for a hot Summer. Make sure that you have enough.

Sounds like a great list. Do you need any type of jacket? A couple of tanks or camis is probably a good idea as they can also be used a layering piece year round.

Jayne: I WANT a bag but I am not sure I need one. If I have some money left over from my budget I would love a yellow bag :)

Mirp: It is very hot here only for a few weeks, the rest of the time it is springy and chilly so I would love the option of thicker shorts that can also be worn with tights!

Are you sure you want denim shorts? I find them a bit hot -- not what I'm looking for when I'm wearing shorts (which is not often in cold Blighty).

After reading velvetychocolate's thread about her summer wardrobe, I decided to share my wardrobe holes for summer as well.

As some of you may have noticed, I have gone a bit nuts this month acquiring tops and t shirts! That is because a lot of my t shirts from summer need to be thrown and many of them are graphic t shirts, which are not really my style anymore. I think I have successfully filled this hole with a few coloured and neutral t shirts and some blouses and button downs.

My next major wardrobe hole is summer bottoms. I have two skirts, 1 pair of shorts that I recently bought and 1 pair of white clams. So in the next two months, I plan to fill these holes. I want atleast a denim skirt and a pair of denim shorts, since these are all year round items that can even be worn with tights. I would like 2 more pairs of shorts, 1 coloured and one either black or navy, preferably in a longer length. I would also love a bright coloured skirt - red maybe?

Dresses are another hole in my wardrobe. I have NONE. So I plan to add atleast two dresses if I can find ones that meet my requirements - no pleats, no need for special bras, at or slightly above knee length and machine washable. Phew!

I also want to add two pairs of shoes - metallic loafers or flats to replace mine plus a nude flat sandal.

The annual summer sale starts next month, so I am hoping to get some of this stuff then. But I do wear a size that sells out quickly, so if I find something in the pre sale period that is on my list, I will definitely get it. This idea isn't mine, I got it from reading one of Angie's blog posts. Doesn't it make total sense?!

Thanks to those who managed to read this far. For those with less time/patience, here is my summer wishlist:

1.Denim skirt
2.Denim shorts
3.Coloured shorts
4.Neutral clams/bermudas
5.Bright coloured skirt
6.Dresses - 2
7.Metallic loafers/flats
8.Nude sandals

Would you add anything to this list? Any comments or suggestions? I am all ears :-)

ETA: I may need a few tanks for when the weather is at its hottest. I'm going to wait and see!
