<p>My favorites are the Gap jacket and the BR cardi. I'm not a fan of bracelet length sleeves in jackets either. I have to say though, that the shade of taupe in the cardi you already own is gorgeous on you.

<p>Thanks Columbine &amp; Viva, both for the feedback &amp; enabling! I've decided to definitely keep the Gap jacket &amp; BR cardigan, so the only one still on the potential chopping block is the BR jacket. But I suspect it's going to stay as well.

<p>Okay, E, you're not a minimalist, you love taupe, they all look great on you, so you can keep them all. :)</p>
<p>That said, I am with Beth Ann. My favorite is the Gap. It seems both modern and vintage at the same time, which is what I love most about it -- there is a sort of timelessness about it that seems to work perfectly with you and your style. The high-low is actually very flattering and pretty, and I love that the sleeves are longish. Whatever you decide, I hope you keep this one.</p>

<p>I'm an enabler here.    I think they all have different vibes/purposes. Personally, I have 6 or 7 different blue cardigans and they all have a purpose, lol. Different lengths and details and shades of color go with different outfits. I loved the outfit in photo six, btw. Lovely!&nbsp;

<p>lol @ MG! :)<div><br /></div><div>Neelie, I don’t wear black or much dark brown. I could try to dye one grey I suppose, but the best dyeing candidate is probably the Gap knit jacket and then the buttons wouldn’t match.</div><div><br /></div><div>Alasse, I didn’t know they had an ebay store! *files away for future knowledge* Thanks so much. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>Beth Ann, you know, I own *lots* of cardigans: they’ve been a wardrobe essential for me for years now but almost no tees! Interesting. I can’t wear most casual jackets in the summer (too heavy for 90+ degrees), so for spring/summer, I’ve got one navy blue jacket, my oversized but oh so comfy linen/silk beige one that wasn’t a hit in a WIW (lol), and a French Blue one that might be getting culled (I’m not sure about the fit now that YLF is making me fussier). For warm weather cardigans I have, in various fibers/formality levels: grey x 2, muted teal, navy blue, navy blue w cream decoration, white, dark brown, medium brown, light pink, blue &amp; grey pattern, sea foam green, and my current lower quality taupe one.</div><div><br /></div><div>Hi Echo! I was suggesting getting rid of my current taupe cardi, not the one in the picture. So you don’t care for either the first jacket (photos 1-5) or the second (photo 6)? And which one is the first jacket duplicating: the snug one? Or the high-low knit one? (I’m sorry I’m confused.)</div><div><br /></div><div>To summarise, everyone’s in favor of the Gap knit jacket for sure, then the BR cardi, then the BR jacket. You know, that’s what my sister said too!</p>
<p>Thanks to everyone for giving me advice. It's definitely helping me sort things out!</div>

<p>I like the last two best, despite you suggesting getting rid of the cardi. Both the high-low hem knit jacket and the cardi look perfect on you &nbsp;While you have a perfect figure, the jacket in 6-7 looks a bit snug. The fist jacket looks all but identical to the one you already own, so it looks like it would be a duplication, despite a slightly different fit.

<p>The Gap jacket is my favorite -- love the shape and the balance between structure, detail, and softness.&nbsp; I think the first would work really well in your wardrobe.&nbsp; The last is my least favorite --- but then, I think cardis are kinda like tees -- basics that can be like the practical glue in a good outfit -- not as exciting on their own.&nbsp; Your description tells me that there's a high happiness factor with this one --- and that matters most of all.&nbsp; If you like it -- you'll wear it.&nbsp; </p>
<p>Is it too much taupe?&nbsp; Harder for me to say.&nbsp; I do think its a good neutral for you, and it works well with your palette of colors.&nbsp; I know I'm running a little short on non-black toppers, how are you for casual jackets in general?

<p>I really like #7-10 and #11-14 on you. The high-low hemline of the former looks quite cute from the back, and your smile says it all for the latter (okay, and I like fitted cardigans myself). (FYI, order from Like Twice's eBay store and you can always have free shipping, no minimum - the items will be priced a tad differently, but not much. Aren't they great?)</p>

<p>Thank you <b>Tanya</b> for your advice!<div><br /></div><div><b>Urban Fae</b>, thanks. I do have the room to keep them all, but then of course I’d have less room for future potential purchases. hehe</div><div><br /></div><div><b>MG</b>, I know exactly what you mean re: the style of the snug one vs the other two. But I never find jackets that fit my real waist, so that &amp; the little floral embroidered bits &amp; the full length sleeves made me decide to give it a go (plus this was before I saw all of the others in person, heehee). If it doesn’t work out in the end, I won’t be out much money at least. It’s only not up for debate because the return window has passed. Maybe I’ll switch out the buttons to see if that changes the feel. Anyway, I lol’ed at your underwhelming impression of the cardi. It’s definitely a basic vs personality-laden, but I actually don’t have any dressy warm weather cardigans, which has made it harder to dress for events in the past. So I think I’ll get a lot of use out of it, and I can style it to be more quirky. Plus it’s impossible soft…I think it must be 5% magic…</div><div><br /></div><div>Oh &amp; I’m currently knitting a pair of summer ‘arm warmers’ (except for sun protection) out of a linen/cotton yarn to wear with my short sleeve blouses &amp; I plan to start a pair of shorter ones to go with my bracelet length sleeves this week! So you read my mind. :)</div><div><br /></div><div>You don’t think it’d be too much duplicating to keep both the BR &amp; Gap jackets? I do love them both too (as much as the cardi).</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Texstyle</b>, yeah my under layer cami was not supposed to be sticking out there! It had escaped from a too hasty tucking. Thanks so much for your advice. So far the general consensus seems to be it wouldn’t be terrible to keep them all, so I might just indulge myself and do so.</div>

<p>I do love the style of 1-5 on you&nbsp; if you can live with the sleeve length I'd say it is very much your style and looks really great all around. I also love the hi-low cardigan on you,&nbsp; but not with too many layers as then it gets a bit fussy in back (image 10). The cardigan in 11-14 is good, but doesn't seem to be as stylish or fun or something, but&nbsp; since you love it, I guess I'd still consider keeping it.&nbsp; I really like taupe too and I don't mind repeating color in several styles if I know I'm going to wear them a lot.

<p>I love the 1st one; it very much fits my idea of your style.&nbsp; You could always knit or crochet some open weave summer weight mitts if the sleeves really bug you - or use it as an excuse to show off some jewelry.&nbsp; The one not up for debate (the snug one) I actually think is weaker than #1 - it has a sort of militaristic look which doesn't scream "Eva" to me.&nbsp; The knit jacket thing is also adorable on you.&nbsp; The last one, the one that you love ... um, it's my least favorite of the bunch.&nbsp; I don't see anything particularly wrong with it, it's just sort ... there.&nbsp; I don't find it nearly as personable or as *you* as the others.

<p>It sounds like each piece has it's own personality (I can so relate!). If you have the room, I'd say to keep them all. But if you really need/want to pair down, I'd go with option 8. I think the longer cut flatters you the most.

<p>What a beautiful selection of taupe toppers E! My two favorite ones are the fitted one you are definitely keeping and the Gap cardi/jacket hybrid. I would also keep the BR cardigan to replace your old one of inferior quality. The only jacket I am not crazy about on you is the first BR one, the sleeves are bugging me too.

<p>Or how many taupe toppers can one closet hold? ;)</p>
<p>
<div><br /></div><div>Recently my sister, who shops at Like Twice, got an offer from them that let her ‘recommend the site to a friend’ and the friend got a credit plus 40% off their first purchase &amp; offered it to me. I thought this was a great opportunity to try to find a pair of well fitting grey trousers (they’re basically an online consignment shop but offer free return shipping &amp; free shipping on any purchase over $50), as trousers are my fitting nemesis. In addition to ordering lots of pairs to try on (and 2 ended up working! yay!), I looked for lightweight toppers too. I have lots of summer weight cardigans, but only one summer weight jacket, and I thought I’d be nice to have another one.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>After trying them on, and getting my sister’s advice, I’ve ruled out all of the toppers I don’t like. But that leaves 3 taupe ones. And by coincidence, on my last thrifting trip, I picked up another taupe summer weight topper. &nbsp;I like them all for different reasons, but it seems fairly ridiculous to have 4 taupe toppers. On the other hand, I’m not a closet minimalist, and I do like taupe. I can afford to keep them all. So I’m asking your your opinions on fit/versatility: I’ve photographed each topper in the kinds of outfits I’d use it in (boxy blouse + shorts, boxy blouse + slim trousers, fit &amp; flare dress).</div><div><br /></div><div>Up first is a Banana Republic linen/cotton blend swingy jacket. I love the round neck, the peplum, and puffed sleeves on this, as well as the fiber content and general quality feel &amp; classy look it has. Considerations: the bracelet length sleeves (I prefer full). I don’t believe it looks that good over the dress. However, the thrifted taupe one I’ve definitely keeping (which isn’t a k/r, just here for comparison in photo 6), has a very fitted waist that I really like w dresses and skirts but wouldn’t wear with shorts. So not working with dresses isn’t a deal breaker. (Photos 1-5)</div><div><br /></div><div>Next is a Gap cotton knit jacket (it’s kind of a jacket/cardigan hybrid, I suppose). I love the full length sleeves, the raglan shoulders &amp; general detailing (buttons! pockets!), and comfort of a knit jacket (I don’t own any). Considerations: how does the high/low hemline look? It’s also far more casual than the BR jacket. Granted, I live a casual life. (Photos 7-10)</div><div><br /></div><div>Then there’s a Banana Republic silk/cotton/viscose blend cardigan. I love everything about this; it’s super soft, the buttons are lovely, and it’s a crew neck (my preferred style). Pretty sure it’s a keeper unless you all hate it, as I’m willing &amp; eager to 1 in/1 out with my current much lower quality warm weather taupe cardigan. It’s here for completion sake, but feel free to weigh in on it too. (Photos 11-14)</div><div><br /></div><div>Thoughts, preferences, etc. are much appreciated, both on how the items look on me and what combination would work best in my wardrobe. Every time I go to package one up as a return, I can’t bring myself to do it, so I’m clearly very torn. If one was grey instead of taupe, I'd keep all 3 in a heart beat.</p>
<p>For those who don’t know my style, I’m very comfortable&nbsp;surrendering my waist and looking small up top doesn’t bother me either. I’m aiming for quaint, storybook kinds of outfits with a European folk vibe. In the past I was prone to compromise on fit, so let me know if any of these look sloppily oversized.</p>
<p>My apologies for the photo dump. I thought 3 angles&nbsp;and a couple different open/closed button&nbsp;variations too&nbsp;would be most helpful. Forgive my cami sticking out in some of the&nbsp;trouser shots: my camera battery was very low so I was trying to move quickly.</p>
