(Right now I have a loose-fitting navy cotton jacket by J. Crew, a collarless, frayed-edge white denim one from Ralph Lauren, and a thin lavender silk with mandarin collar that is vintage Eileen Fisher.)&nbsp; Avoiding linings, especially acetate linings, is important if you don't want to boil in heat and humidity.&nbsp; If you are lucky enough to spot a Summer jacket with a cotton batiste lining, snap it up; they are wonderfully breathable. Thin handkerchief linen shirts in interesting shapes (band-collared, pleated, ruffled, statement-sleeved, etc) can be great as jackets over tank tops on really hot days. (Eileen Fisher's elegant linen shirts often work this way.)&nbsp; I also like cropped cotton cardigans with 3/4 sleeves in pretty colors (J. Crew and Gap usually carry some) to wear over sundresses.
