(I'm personally not feeling the pointy mule vibe that is everywhere, but yours are still a nicer version of them!) To feel better about paying for real leather sandals, keep in mind that a friendship with a cobbler will keep all-leather shoes going for many years! Angie, we used to live right across the street from the beach! I do miss that. I don’t miss the quirks of trying to fit two self-employed people in one little 700sf house with one bathroom, with kids staying every other weekend, sleeping on air mattresses in the living room...but I do miss the beach! If we hadn’t been house shopping at the peak of the housing market (the bubble burst the year after we bought, eek), we probably would have ended up buying a waterfront house. Instead we ended up with a swimming pool and 100 acres of woods behind our house, which is still pretty nice. </p> <p>But hey, we still own the beach house (and rent it out), so we have community beach privileges. I like the style, but it does read a bit more dressy than my summer style. I don’t mind at all that the JC mules are beachy-casual and a touch boho. Heck, I live two miles away from the beach, and my style in summer incorporates some boho touches, so they don’t feel off for me at all. In fact, the more structured mules (which I do like, such as the shape of the Shelly’s pictured here) strike me more wearable with jeans and trousers, maybe a bit more work-appropriate. I wear a lot of shorts and casual skirts/dresses in summer, and am looking to keep the vibe really easy, in order to dress *down* the skirts and dresses. I’m also in a hot, humid environment, and woven or perforated styles appeal to me a lot more as they allow my feet to breathe. Nothing worse than swampy feet in summer! They are TTS — they are maybe slightly roomy (my feet are a little on the low-volume side) but the upper is substantial enough to make them work and my feet don’t feel like they’re flopping out. </p> <p>The GS and AGS are different enough to me that I doubt I’d split wears — the white soles are more sporty and I doubt I’d wear those with skirts, for instance. Considering these would be replacing at least four pairs of old sandals, I think these would provide a little variety. I need to take a look at these with my summer stuff, so it’s probably time I take my summer wardrobe out of hibernation to get a clear picture. </p>
