Far Out - I actually REALLY like those crocs Susan! I had no idea either that they actually make other styles! And for the price and the amount of time it actually rains here, I think they might just be a winner for me...

Must admit some of those Aquatalia's are gorgeous too, but sadly way out of my price range for the amount of wear they'd get :(

I'm so glad I asked the question!

those are very cute and practical. There is a whole world of crocs out there that I had no idea about. In fact, Amazon has some real cute rubber ballet shoes, now that you have pointed it out !

I may regret posting this, but I'm going to go ahead and admit that I do wear crocs in the Prima ballet flat style as a summer rain shoe (and ONLY as a rain shoe):

http://www.amazon.com/crocs-Pr.....B0014C4EZK

They're durable, easy to dry off, and work with skirts and dresses. I really haven't found anything else that's warm weather appropriate and as sturdy and versatile. I wear them in any context I would consider it acceptable to wear wellies (i.e. a trip to the coffee shop, but not inside my workplace). I have them in the cotton candy color and get compliments on them whenever I wear them.

Not trying to push them on you Theresa, if you really dislike crocs, but I hope this will be helpful to someone else checking the thread.

How ironic, I am currently on the same quest. But for me it is more of a Spring and Fall issue.

Last year I bought a pair of Aquatalia bronze loafers ( fully waterproof ) Every shoe Aquatalia makes is waterproof - I love mine except that they are a bit narrow, so I am working on stretchin a bit more :

http://www.amazon.com/Aquatali.....038;sr=8-3

I love these too, by Aquatalia :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ.....d_i=507846

The great thing about Aquatalia is that they don't look like rain shoes at all, so you get alot of wear out of them - for the price you should.

I also think that Bogs are very cute ( Just one style here - they have more ) :

http://www.endless.com/Bogs-Wo.....,B002S8P8O

Finally, since most of our rain is in Spring and it is still a bit chilly sometimes - I am getting these to wear with dresses :

http://www.endless.com/Cole%20.....B00264GYRQ

Unfortunately, the really cute stuff that is versatile to wear all the time and not just in the rain, is expensive.

Really finally this time - I bought a pair of beautiful blue rubber ballet shoes that I probably wear more than anything other rain shoe. It was a couple of years ago at Payless shoes.

Yeah, that's a tough one. It's hard to look pretty when it's hot and rainy. I'm like you...crocs are not for me. This is what I wore last summer:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/w.....028280387/
It's like a flip flop but the slingback styling and the little rhinestones make it a tad dressier.
I'll be watching this thread to see with others will suggest.

OK I never thought I'd need to ask this LOL

We've been in drought for so long now, that if we do get rain, its usually just for a day or so max, and generally at night.

But, its been raining almost constantly for 5 weeks (with a few windows of sunny days) and I'm realising how completely ill-equipped I am for this weather! (of course last time we had this much rain, I was 11).

Anyway, what on earth do you guys wear on your feet when its rainy and you have to cross puddles etc in Summer?

Its too hot to wear anything like jeans and long boots - the humidity is horrendous and I'm sweltering. I refuse to buy/wear crocs!

So for now I've just been splashing to and from school in my Havaiana's & umbrella (I cover the girls up in gumboots and raincoats) and then if I need to go out in public swapping to good shoes just before I get out of the car.

But, are there some stylish rain proof summery shoes? Maybe gumboots/wellies? But do they look any good with shorts/dresses?

I have no idea! Oh and I bet if I go and buy something it will stop raining LOL
