I’m with CS that it might’ve been a bad day for your body or mood. But it is possible for losing weight to make things not fit in a way that isn’t obviously “too big”. For example, my jeans that could slip down less than an inch, to a less flattering height, where they then gave me muffin top.

I have had similar feelings and found for me it might be the bra I had on or I am just feeling out of sorts that day. I hope you take pictures.

How disappointing! I have occasionally had items shrink in strange ways in the wash if they have been low quality--they shrink in some areas but not others, leading to an unflattering fit. I'm thinking, though, that if you have lost weight since the purchases, the poor fit likely has something to do with a different body shape. Sometimes it doesn't take much of a weight loss or gain to really change the way a garment looks.

I'm sorry, Theresa. Perhaps you can show us the dresses, take some pics, and we can help you troubleshoot?

I echo what Chewyspaghetti said too.

Oh no! Maybe you do get what you pay for. Try them again another day and see if you still feel the same.

I had never worn them before, and had tried them all on at home before cutting the tags off... so strange. I really do think they must have all shrunk in the wash... i guess you get what you pay for?

How aggravating! What material are they made of? I find items with rayon can change shape with one wash.
Maybe your mirror was at a different/unflattering angle? Did you try them in a store or order online? I find some store mirrors to be distorting.

I think if you liked them all before, and don't like any of them now- it might be a perspective issue. Might just be a bad day, or a change in your body, or a style shift.

Very sorry to hear this, Theresa! Perhaps the dresses don't look half as bad as you think and you were only stressed out yesterday?

I had to go into the office yesterday (casual dress code for summer), so i thought - Great! I will just put on one of the cute midi dresses i recently purchased and a denim jacket, and i will be good to go....
Um, not so much. I purchased two midi dresses at old navy and one at TJ Maxx over the past few months.

All three looked terrible yesterday! Is it just low quality? Did they shrink even though i washed them on hand wash setting and let them air dry? Did they never look good but i just really really wanted them to? Did I ever think that a hip-level tier on a tiered midi dress was a good idea for my pear shaped body?

I have lost several pounds since I bought them, so I know its not that I have gotten bigger...

Very frustrating!! The hunt continues....
I have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear!!
