Thank you Helena! We just got back, and I will post a full style report next week, but will say that a light puffer definitely came in handy!

Jaime, love your summer burgundy and happily envious of your travel plans ... I would love to go to Copenhagen and hope you have a fantastic time! I think your packing plan is sound ... You can always bring or purchase thicker socks if you're feeling the chill. I think a light puffer is fine esp as nighttime might be cooler! And your own comfort trumps all so you can enjoy rather than worry about cold feet

So fun that you were just in Copenhagen Mary! Funny you saw that, I would say that 80% of the people here are wearing sneakers and the other 20% some form of flat shoe. Working on a full style report, I hope you will see if you agree after I post it.

I just got back from Copenhagen and EVERYBODY, men, women, and children, was wearing Birkenstock Arizonas. There was even a long line outside the Birkenstock store!! It was amazing!

I wore sneakers and did just fine.

As an aside, the highlight of our trip was a wonderful dinner with Christine and friends through http://www.meetthedanes.com. We met her at her apartment and she cooked a fabulous dinner for us, and we hit it off so well we met up again a few days later for sightseeing. They have a variety of hosts to choose from and I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it!

We also did a day trip to Malmo, Sweden, just over the bridge, and it was a highlight, too.

I wear boots in summer and am used to very hot temps, so even humid low 30's are not too hot for me (having visited Japan in their high summer and experienced those temps). Sneakers and boots would be what I would be wearing too.

Love your outfit!

Gorgeous look!

I am. having the same thing atm. I am from Brisbane, Australia, where most of the time the winter temps are 22-23 degrees celcius, dipping below 20 only once or twice a winter. I'm currently in London, where the heat wave has passed, and it's, you guessed it, 22 degrees!

I packed sandals and have not worn them once. I am wearing sneakers on the day to day, and boots for work for dressier occasions. I usually have my puffer with me and certainly need it in the evenings and on some days. I decided I would rather be comfortable, and wear what works for me, even if Londoners are wearing white linen lol.

Here are the weather forecasts for Copenhagen for today and the following days:
3 days with no rain at all
1 day with showers
4 days with POSSIBLE showers
2 days with POSSIBLE showers, but ONLY AT NIGHT

Day temperatures from 21 to 25 C.
Night temperatures from 14 to 19 C.

This is typical summer weather in Copenhagen.

No need for boots. Waterproof sneakers will be sufficient.
The only boots that might sometimes be useful to wear in Copenhagen in summer are rain boots. But you will most probably do fine without them, as this city has countless interesting indoor places to visit!

That is about the most “summery” burgundy outfit I have ever seen. Well done! I’m taking notes because I love burgundy but find it tricky in summer.

Have fun on your trip. Personally, I would take the boots, as long as they are light coloured. Sneakers just don’t feel as good for me. But you do you!

Hmm, I am considering everything you said carefully.
notsaf - I am delighted that you loved Copenhagen. The more I research the more interesting it seems. Thank you for your suggestions - I will be checking out all your suggestions.
Thank you kkards!
LaPed - Sandals in 15C is the inverse of boots in 21C, and I understand it in both cases.
Suz - Very good points, thank you!
Angie - Thank you.
After reading and considering all your very, very helpful thoughts, I have decided to bravely face Scandinavian summer without boots but with covered shoes and socks! I will wear my closed rubber sole ballet like shoes (also Trippen) and pack sneakers and a light puffer just in case. Thank you all again - I will report how it goes!

Jaime -- love your outfit!

And how fun to visit Copenhagen! I hope you have a great trip.

As others have said, temperatures feel vastly different depending on humidity levels, and you are used to hot/ mostly dry, so your tolerance might differ.

Even so -- boots seem like more than you'd need or want. I'd bring sneakers or oxfords or other flats. A more closed up sandal (like a fisherman's or sandal bootie?) might also be good for the warmer days.

I wouldn't wear a puffer in those temps, personally -- but if you have a light packable one, why not bring it along?

Then again, it's about 20C here right now and I am in shorts and a cotton shirt. So....

Having lived in both desert climates and coastal climates, 20°C can feel warmer when when the humidity is high, which I suspect it is in Copenhagen. On the flip side, 10°C feels colder to me if it's damp...I suspect you'll want some sort of shell jacket/anorak to cut the wind and protect from rain. All that said, I don't think you will need boots and might feel out of place wearing them (plus they take up a lot of luggage real estate!). Sneakers and other closed-toe shoes should be fine. I bet you'll see locals in a mix of closed-toe shoes and sandals, jeans and shorts, tees, sweaters, and jackets. Here in New England, folks tend to start breaking out the sandals once it is consistently above 15°C, otherwise we'd hardly get a chance to wear them!

Looking fabulous as always, Jaime! The bag and shoe complement is KILLER delicious with this look :)

I've been to Scandinavia in the Summer! It was hot but cools down at night. A/C is rare so there is that - and places are not built for heat. Things are HOT when temperatures are 28C plus. That is not the case in Tel Aviv, IYKWIM.

I always bring items to cover my feet and body in case I feel cold. I'd bring the boots and some type of jacket.

Have a beautiful trip!

Jaime, you look gorgeous in your burgundy summer outfit, which I am sure would be a succes in Copenhagen too!

I am from Copenhagen and live further north in Scandinavia. Will go back in August to visit family and friends in and around Copenhagen. I will certainly not wear boots in summer. If your trip to Copenhagen is in July or August, I don't think you will NEED boots either, but if you PREFER to wear them and your feet don't get too hot--well, that's another story. ;-)

You will probably get rainy days as well as sunny ones. Temperatures might vary between 16 and 25 C. I highly recommend this website: yr.no, which offers detailed 9-day weather forecasts for Copenhagen--and most other places in the world!

General advice: Dress in light layers, so that you can easily add or subtract ....

Sneakers and other closed-toe shoes will be fine. Plus comfortable socks for cooler days. Do bring sandals for the warm and sunny days! A light-weight puffer will probably suit you well. Bring an umbrella (or buy one in the city). Should the weather forecast indicate many showers, a light-weight packable rain coat / rain poncho will be useful.

Enjoy your stay in wonderful Copenhagen! You will find loads of sightseeing tips and practical info here: https://www.visitcopenhagen.com/
I always recommend a guided canal tour. Info here: https://www.stromma.com/en-dk/.....rand-tour/

I was in Copenhagen in July a few years ago. We had a mix of beautiful sunny days and overcast drizzle. I do think closed-toed shoes would be more comfortable for me than sandals; I'd wear white sneakers. What color are your boots? As long as they don't read too "winter" (i.e. dark), I'm sure they would serve you well!

Enjoy! Copenhagen is a favorite cities of all the cities I've ever visited. Make sure you don't miss Hija de Sanchez.

I love the floral blouse paired with the culottes, Jaime!

And how fun that you are going to Copenhagen. I'd say: if you love wearing your Trippen boots in those kind of temps, then why not! I bet they are very comfortable too, which is important if you will be doing lots of walking.

I would continue to check the weather forecast though. Summers in Northern Europe (including Scandinavia) have been a lot hotter the last few years.

I was in Copenhagen in July 2019, and there was a heatwave. We had 10 days of 28-32 °C and it was sweltering hot. I only wore my Birkenstock sandals:-)

It did rain one morning, so a closed-toe shoe was good to have for that.

The Uniqlo puffer is a great idea (and it doesn't take up all that much space, right).

Re: slippery. As we had so little rain, I can't really speak to that, but here in Antwerp there are now many areas with a new type of pavement that gets incredibly slippery when wet. I don't know whose brilliant idea this was, but it really is an accident waiting to happen :-(( Hopefully it's not the same in Copenhagen, but I'd take one pair of shoes with good traction, just in case...

I have been to Copenhagen and wore a puffer coat and Chelsea boots but it was in November. I live in a similar climate (Dublin) if I was going in summer I would wear sneakers and bring a light puffer jacket as that is what we wear in Dublin at this time of year. Weather is very changeable in our summers so layers are a good idea. However as you live in a warm climate your tolerance of cold is probably different to those of us who live in cooler places. I know when I go to warmer countries the heat is exhausting for me and it doesn’t bother the locals.

I have not been to Scandinavia in the summer, but I've been watching this Stockholm street style channel of late:
https://youtube.com/@StreetstyleStockholm

Obviously, a different city, but similar climate and culture. I would not take boots unless there's actually a lot of rain in the forecast for your trip dates. Per the video, sneakers seem to be worn with anything and everything.

My footwear for summer trips to northern Europe that I've taken in the past has revolved around sandals, tennies, and ballet flats.

Things have been a bit hectic lately and I have not managed to get many outfit shots but did purposely wear this burgundy summer outfit after Angie's post.
Now I have a question - we are going to Copenhagen for our summer vacation this year and I am very confused about appropriate footwear. You see Scandinavian summer sounds a lot like Israeli winter with highs around 70F/20C and lots of rain. In Israel that is boots weather! Would it be crazy for me to wear my Trippen low boots with rubber soles? I would also bring sneakers but am wondering about how slippery things get. I am also considering a thin Uniqlo puffer - am I crazy? Any suggestions for Copenhagen non-footwear related also very welcome!
