Looks like the shorts idea has the thumbs up! Hooray!

@suz and @janet, I started a new thread for the body type question http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ost-369096

Another vote for shorten and keep. And I like the top length in the second photo. I have that same jacket!

I think I might relate to a little of the body shape question you have. I don't have a booty, but I'm an hourglass with pear tendencies, and my widest part is actually at the top of my thigh, not my hip. Top lengths are tricky for me -- tunics often look awful because the hem tends to hit right where I'm widest. Slightly cropped jackets and tops that end at the high hip are usually a good pick. The jacket you have on in the pictures looks great -- you look terrific!

Shorten and keep! That outfit looks great! And the Soffts look great to me, too!

As for body shape, I'll bet the experts here can say more and better. But if your thighs look wider than your hips, could you not be a pear shape? I suppose not if your shoulders balance out your hips...however, some of the dressing guidelines for pears might be useful?

On the other hand, I remember reading some interesting stuff over at Inside Out Style.

She describes something called the 8 shape, which MIGHT be what you are talking about...http://www.insideoutstyleblog......pes-8.html
Take a look and see if it seems relevant to you.

Has Angie had a chance to see your photos and give you her take on your body shape?

shorts! that length is very flattering on you.
And I really like the shoes. Because they are a lighter color, they don't chop your leg like a darker color might. I think they are great!

Another vote for shorten and keep And I think the shoes are fine with the shorter length, as they are a very neutral colour.

Thanks, Rosee! Keeping the pants at current length is not an option after the last homework exercise. It's either cut the pants to shorts if they look good with the jacket or consign them and just keep the jacket.

I think you should crop the pants to shorts -- you can't really wear them as flattering pants at the length. They are flattering as shorts. I like the jacket too.
BTW I like the Sofft sandals with this outfit.

This is the other suit with cropped pants that I would like your feedback on.

Pic 1 - before pic at current pant length (I cringe)
Pic 2 - folded to bermuda short length

Should I hem the pants to shorts or should they go into the consign pile?

A couple other fit questions:

Shoes-As cute as I think these Sofft cage sandals are, I have not been comfortable wearing them with shorts or skirts because they come up high around the ankle and I feel they cut my legs short. I have other shoes if you agree these shoes would be best under jeans.

Body shape- I don't know what my lower body shape is called, but I'll try to explain it. I've been labeled both hourglass and inverted triangle. Where my hip measurement is the fullest because of my booty, when you look at me from the front view, my hips are narrower than the upper part of my thigh. So where I think a shirt/ jacket looks best from the front view (to cover the narrow hip), it also sits on the fullest part of my booty which I thought was a no-no.

The jacket below hits above the narrow hip and so i put a top underneath to try to elongate the look, it still looks funny to me. There has to be something better. Would appreciate any suggestions.

With my body shape, is the short jacket better with a skirt? Should I blow off making these into pants into shorts?
