Love the skirt!
I like solid tops and you can use black, white or brights. Fluid T's tucked in. Boxy wide short sleeved tops including lace-/ you know those squarish short sweatshirt-y tops all over Banana Republic? Something likd that is volume over volume, but you and the skirt are long and slim so it would not be too much. Ballet- style boatneck tops. Peasant top of not too voluminous or would look costumy, hence reason to go against type with the top.

I can totally picture you rocking an off-the-shoulder Bardot blouse with this. I picked up a beautiful lace topped cami from this company while in Montreal last week, and it's just begging me to find a skirt like yours to pair it with: http://www.ariannelingerie.com.....-2896.html

Nordstrom may have quite a few cropped tops in the juniors' section. Maybe try Forever 21, Tilly's, and Pacsun?

Thx Angie and all!

Ok. I'm hearing short/cropped. I like the idea of something lacy or soft. I also like the idea of a peasant style top...

Right. Ok. I see Asos, Anthro, and UO are places to look. Any other thoughts on who else may be doing short tops? I'm ok with cropped but not an actual halter top with exposed midriff...

Hmm, I might try it with a peasant blouse like L'Abeille suggested, and I would make sure that the bottom of the blouse has a very pronounced welt to rein in the volume. I have also worn skirts like this with a drapey button-down that I tie at the bottom (like the one I have attached to this post).

I'm not sure how you feel about crop tops, but maybe a fitted crop top would work? I've attached one to this post. I am short waisted, so oftentimes crop tops are not terribly short and only end up showing about an inch of skin. I feel like as long as my belly button isn't exposed, it is age appropriate. I find I have to wear them with high-waisted bottoms.

I don't know what I would do about a topper. I'm terrible at figuring out toppers...

Maybe you misdirected me with the gypsy. But I would try a white off-the-shoulder peasant blouse, or a fitted shell or short-sleeved T in lace (black or a jewel colour). Then tone it down with sensible shoes like Birkenstocks or oxfords, and maybe a sleeveless blazer if I needed to defeminize it further.

Love this skirt. I think a fitted or drapey black, white or cobalt blue top tucked into the skirt will work.

A boxy, cropped top with some interesting detail will do well too.

A short fitted top is best untucked - or tucking a longer top as you have here.

You could also knot a shirt at the waist, try a boxy cropped top, or wear a soft style with the welt.

Something simple but a bit more interest than a tank top might be nice. Drape neck top below, or one of those woven tops that's everywhere this summer that's almost cropped with a bit of a cap sleeve?

So I have this summer skirt... This summer's theme is Spanish Gypsy in honour or to the annoyance of my neighbor (hehe)... We won't get into chip 'n dip flamenco groupies... Anyways, I've been wearing it with just a black tank top, but I think a more proper top would also be nice. However, I'm not sure what, if anything, would look that good with it. Ideas? Also, topper thoughts?

Ok, thx in advance!
