Mine have a very puffy tongue at the ankle so I don't think they'd work under straight legs. I think those grey flannel Blowfish ones would. They look more like a wedge desert boot than say a sneaker in my opinion. I wear mine with straights or skinnies (not dresses or skirts for me). They are so incredibly comfortable -- really like wearing sneakers, but with just enough elevation to add a little leg length and edge to a look. Yes, quite often. I frequently want "business" or "office" like clothes (and I don't work in an office) or sparkly party outfits (especially at this time of year) when I never get invited to formal parties. In fact, before YLF, half my wardrobe was composed of these unwearable items. Now, when I get a desire for something that seems like a dumb idea, I interrogate myself very sternly. Mostly that means that I put it in the shopping cart but do not press "buy." But sometimes it means that I am making (or trying to make) a style shift. So if the item passes the "practical" test (i.e. I can think of a few ways to wear it and I want to wear it right away) then I might give it a whirl. </p> <p>And then there's fun. She wanted me to get a bright teal, but I went with grey. The more neutral the color, the easier to wear. Less funky and anime. However, I only wear them in ways that I don't think you are looking for -- with skinnies/jeggings/leggings or with skirts and shorts.</p> <p>You can wear them under bootcut jeans, much like any sneaker, but then you'd be hiding the hightop effect.
