This style of jean suits you. Love you in 2/3 and 5! Length and rolling look fine to me, you have long legs so that length works.

As for #1, the bones of the outfit are good, what about finishing the outfit with a light colored topper instead of the dark one?

I'm actually really liking the grey sweatshirt top and of course your go to BF look. I do think the jacket hits set an odd place and although I like the idea of 4 I think the particular top that you've chosen makes your shoulders look narrow which through about the proportions - maybe with a collared shirt?

Thanks, Pil. Much appreciated! Clarks actually has a cute pair that come in widths. I might try them once I get my orthotics. They're these:
http://vip.zappos.com/clarks-d.....te-leather

Hey Beth, I kind of doubt the lilac loafers would work with an orthotic. They are a stiff reflective fabric and fit snugly on what I think are my high volume feet. The black ones on the other hand - maybe? The leather is soft and pliable enough that they feel like a slipper. In fact, my feet might have been happier had I worn them for the Boston shopping marathon :)

Pil, I missed these (just saw your reference to driving mocs on another thread). You look great! 2, 3, and 5 are my favorites, and I don't see any old gym sweatshirts. I adore the shoes, too. Might have to put some driving mocs on my own shoe list. Do you think they could take orthotics?

I LOVE the shoes (Inge might have to fight me for them) and I love how the magenta works with the olive. 2, 3, and 5 are just fabulous!!

All are great. You have a great fit in these jeans. I see the shirt issue--it's just somehow not as cool as the draped knits. So nonchalant. The gray is wonderful. Love the jacket, too. I think it can be hard to match jacket proportions with BF's and this works well.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Angie, thanks for the thumbs up! These are a big step for me.
Kellygirl, even though I can sew it wouldn't have occurred to me to shorten these. I may have to try that, thanks for the suggestion.
NDmom, Emily and Caro - thanks!
Krista, if *I* can wear the boyfriend jeans then you definitely can! Add them to the casual capsule you were working on The top in #4 has an elasticized hem so not so agreeable to the semi tuck.
lyn67, good idea about changing the belt, thanks. That may work with a pair of my Birkenstocks. You have also given me an idea of another pairing with completely different shoes, belt and sweater.

LOVE these, Pil. I think the roll length is perfect. I love this look on you. The army jacket is the perfect length to my eye too. Every one of these is a winner. The only thing you might consider is shortening the pants to make the roll less bulky. I wear mine like you have yours--some of my jeans are longer than others so I end up with a bulkier roll at times. It doesn't bother me but I think some people might prefer a sleeker roll.

So the new boyfriends went on sale and with a $10 coupon ended up being about 50% off. Though the clerk at JCP chided me for wasting gas to save the $10. Hey now, I was out anyway!

#1 WIW to a friends party for her son who is home on leave from the Army. I think this looked better in my head than in action.

Back to the boyfriends, here are a few different combinations - all with the new loafers. The lower stance of the pants is going to take some getting used to.

#2 is probably what I'm most likely to wear.
Is the jacket in #3 a wonky length with the cropped pants?
#4 Not loving this.
#5 I like the muted tone of the gray sweater but kind of feel as if I look like I'm wearing an old school gym sweatshirt.

Do the pants need to be rolled shorter? Longer? You have set me on the right path for new looks in the past so I'm hoping you will offer your collective YLF wisdom once again!

Thanks!
