I think it might go better with flared jeans. It's basically a boxy style, so I would like to see it with pants or a skirt that is fitted at the waist and high hip, and then flares out. I think it's not quite the right silhouette with the skirt you've shown--with the fullness in the skirt, I'd like to see a shorter or more fitted top, or one with a banded waist like in the stock photo. Maybe try semi-tucking the top with the skirt and with these slim-legged jeans? That might work.
