I end up wearing simple pendants most of the time because by body chemistry eats the finish off from costume jewelry. I did buy two "statement" necklaces in the spring. One I haven't worn at all. The other I have worn 5 or 6 times but doubt I will wear it again because the gold plating is completely gone from the back that rests against my skin and looking shabby on the front.

I go through cycles, that seem to be based mainly on season. This summer, except for my trusty pearls, I didn't wear any necklaces. It seems too hot. For fall? I'll probably stay with shorter necklaces. It's kind of been my preference. Although I wouldn't say no if the right strand of super-long pearls, a la Louise Brooks, came into my life. Even if one of the entitties tries to claim the necklace for herself.

My necklace style has evolved a lot over the last few years, maybe yours has as well? I have the Boob Issue too with things that are too long, so I usually go for pieces that are shorter or are light enough to return to center, so to speak :)

I used to love pearls a lot, but I think they read a little old for me right now. I will stash them for when I am older

I like necklaces and used to wear them more. Now, I think to try one much less frequently and when I do try, I often wind up deciding not to put it on. I can't say why. I have some beautiful, simple ones and more elaborate ones, as well as pearl options. I always have something that would work, but I think I'm just off them for now. They feel like too much. I wear a watch, wedding/engagement rings, one other ring and earrings daily.

For longer necklaces I usually knot them to prevent them from highlighting one of the girls. The weight of the knot (if it's not possible to wear a pendant) will keep the necklace from wandering too far from the middle. I will also double or triple a necklace to make it short enough. I love a multi-strand look.

I also wear necklaces that stop above the girls generally unless they're long enough to knot or wear with a pendant. I love statement necklaces because they are so substantial and stay put. When I wear neckaces it's usually with v-necks, scoops or square necks. I also like statement necklaces with turtle necks.

I only wear long necklaces that have heavy pendants or are heavy all over. That way the weight keeps it between my boobs and not around one! But I realize that heavy necklaces are often painful, so that's not a sure-fire fix.
I love necklaces and wear them frequently because I have a very casual wardrobe and casual life. An arty necklace can take an outfit from boring jeans and a tee and make it look intentional. Sally from Already Pretty wears tones of necklaces, short and long, and looks great in them. She has some good tips about necklaces with different necklines, too.

Most of my necklaces were gifts and/or have been around for a while, which may be part of the issue in that I didn't choose the length or style myself. Perhaps I should put some of these away for a while or get rid of the ones that aren't "special" in some way.

I often find that shorter necklaces feel *too* short, but then the longer ones don't seem to stay in place, and I end up just wearing a scarf instead! Maybe I should try the "scarflace" look and thread some of the larger pendants onto a thin scarf. Or getting chains in different lengths.

I find it hard to wear the kind of necklace that you show in the picture. That's why I don't own any like that.
What works for me is torsades (multiple strands, twisted together) - pearls or semiprecious stones. And for metal, I have a 16" omega that I wear with a pendant (I have five different ones for variety).

Mander, longer necklaces do that on me too, and it has even been commented on at work! Yikes! And I think you just saved me some money because I've been eyeing a long chain with quartz beads spaced far apart! Love it so much but I bet it would do that.

I can't see the detail on your necklaces, but I have noticed that statement necklaces don't stay current forever, and I wonder if that might be happening with yours.

I'm firmly in the delicate sentimental piece camp.

Is anyone else finding it difficult to wear necklaces? The other day I reorganized my jewelry storage and I have a ton of them, but I can't really remember the last time I wore one (other than a delicate sentimental piece). Somehow they all seem to look wrong. I've seen this piece on Already Pretty, and I'm sure Angie has probably mentioned it, but I still just feel strange whenever I put one on and end up taking it off again.

The other problem I seem to have, at least with longer necklaces, is that they don't stay in the middle of my body. Half the time I glance down and notice that one of the, um, girls has decided to wear my necklace all by herself, which is not exactly the most flattering look!

Any special tips and/or commiseration?
