Thanks for the comments.

In terms of the hem rolling up in the back, it is not the lining that is visible, but the inside of the skirt that is a whitish/greyish color that looks like sweatshirt material. (There is a lining but it doesn't come down that far.) Bad design! I see on the Nordstrom website that someone else complained about this issue. Strangely enough the striped one is the same colors on both sides so if it is rolling up, it's not noticable.

I'm sending my lace one back and will try the solid black with the hope that it's more like the striped one...which already got a few compliments at work!

Is the lining perhaps hanging too low? I have a tube skirt that did that on the back and I put a few stitches below the waistline to pull up the lining part a bit. Maybe do a test with a pin and see if helps? but I wouldn't describe what mine did as curling, so maybe your issue is different.
The fit on both skirts is great and I second the suggestions for more fluid tops and lighter-feel shoes.

You might try just ordering another in the same pattern if you love the lace print. I think others here have the same one and don't remember hearing a problem with the hem rolling, so that particular skirt may be defective.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Neel--thank you for posting the pictures--appreciate the step-by-step guidance here! Crew necks don't tend to be too flattering on me, but there are some other good possibilities.

Yes, I'm on the lookout for lighter feeling shoes that will work for my fussy feet.

One update--I was going to wear the black one to work today. I actually think it could be more useful as a dressier piece for the cool Bay Area climate. But even after ironing, it wouldn't stop rolling up in the back--it looks like "my slip is showing" in the words of my DH. I'm going to send it back I may look online to see if it's still available in my size in a different pattern.

Great skirts! I like the suggestions already put forth. No solution for the lace bit sneaking up - that would bug me too.

I love the tube skirts on you. They fit you wonderfully.
Your shoes look super comfy too. Have you tried a lighter shoe with the skirts, or a shoe that has a lighter feel to it?

Yay, Gardenchick! Aren't you glad we joined the tube skirt club?

I was liking mine with more fluid tops too...for me having the skirt being fitted was as vavoom as I wanted to go. The first top Neel showed...the black one...is the one I'm wearing in my first picture. Highly recommend, I love that top!

And Suz showed her striped one with the pink J Crew sweater...makes me want it too.

Have fun looking! Definitely keep at least one.

The skirts look great on you! I like how the jacket in 3 adds a fluid touch to the look. Have you tried ironing the hem on the lace skirt to see if it stays put?

I think it is the silhouette more than the fit of tops gardenchick. The tops you are wearing would look fantastic over say harems or flared skirts. I am getting at something like the attached. Slightly fluid yet not oversized. Although what you have paired the skirts with is not a fail at all. Far from that. But these options might be more on trend.

Thanks Neel! Appreciate the feedback.
I like the idea of fluid fits, but not sure I've actually figured out what that means for my body type,
I'm struggling with tops these days--when I look at the photos, many look too tight. But when I'm at a store, the next size up is often too big. Frustrating.

The skirts fit you beautifully. Great buys! The top colors would surely work with both skirts. How do you feel about slightly fluid tops for the skirts?

I also like the jacket over skirt look. I am afraid I don't have any solutions for the curling though.

Inspired by Peri (and many of you!) I decided to check out the VC tube skirts and ordered two. The striped one is petite so a little shorter.

I think that I like them, the fit is flattering, and I conld probably use both. Now thinking about how to style. The purple shirt is one of my longer shirts...also the black top with green would work with either, I think. Thoughts?

One question: I notice that the (faux) lace one curls up a little in the back, so that the inside is visible on the bottom. Anyone else dealt with this?

Thanks for looking!
