Cocolion, I adore your keen sense of style and think you are on about the tunic needing a tuck with the skirted look (of course this was a dress so that would work but I do own several skirts that would fit the bill) Feel like tucking the long top would be a very Claire thing to do and is a great idea. I do like classic looks as well. The pants look on trend (at the bottom...) the waistband is over my bellybutton up top! so not on trend there at all. I am thinking to try having the waistband removed and a channel for elastic so I can push them down to the hip a bit. I love the idea of trying to tie the striped top and pair with these pants though... wheels turning ...

Lyn D, yes I am totally smitten of silk as of late. I go through buying obsessions... last year it was scarves and handbags, this year its been blazers and silk shirts... go figure!

Ingunn, I hadnt thought about trying white jeans withthe tunic or a partial tuck as it is soooo long... but I might be hemming it and it is fairly lightweight. You have always got the most creative remixing ideas!

Mona, I obviously need to figure out how to get the sleeve scrunch to stay in place!

Thanks Suz, I always appreciate your feedback on proportions. I think hemming might be a good idea to make the tunic a bit more versatile...

DianeG, I am definately going to try some other colors under the tunic since you all have me thinking about mix and match possibilities. I made have to post another Q about sewing silk (which I have never done) after I figure out the amont the tunic shrinks with laundering. Thanks!
Joy, i love the idea of considering hemming the tunic. I will wash it and see how much it shrinks (since it is labeled dry clean)... I really love the idea of a patterned scarf with the black and white shirt. I have a floral that would look great... and I never think of the scarves these days. Ill have to keep an eye our for some microchecks as it seems lots of ladies really get al lot of wera from them. White sounds like a good pairing for the sweater... I suppose it could be too big? I grabbed it on impulse and didnt have a chance to try it on (but for $2 I wasnt worried it was a final sale item)... Its a Chico's Sz 1 so I considered it "my size" just by the label, love the idea of white with it. Our team colors were white and green growing up so I tend not to think of that combo for any other uses! LOL

Firecracker, I like the idea of darting the pant a bit at the ankle. I htink I could just do this over the existing hem if I can get in there with the lining. Its a bit of a loose jersey like silk so it might be above my skill level.... Belting the tunic I like too, I'll have to look at my collection and try to find some good choices! Thanks :)

Sanet, Thanks for the ideas! I think Im going to try it next with skinny's... I have to find some equivelant of the hair band trick that works for my arms to keep it put up there when I scrunch!

KellyGirl, I appriciate you ringing in on the jacket and dress looks. You wear a casual jacket like no ones business so I htink your eye is really tuned. Yes, I see what you mean about the boxyness.. feels a little awkward here. Great idea to put the sweater over a dress too! I have one or two I am going to try when our weather improves next week!

Kiwichic, I htink the sweater maybes needs more fashion forward bottoms to look it's best. The waist on these pant is really high (why there were in the donate bin) wich I could disguise with the tunic but might be harder to do with the sweater... i like thie idea though and am going to give it a whirl! :)

There have already been lots of great suggestions for your fab haul. I agree that the tunic could stand a smidge off the bottom and I too would love to see it with white skinnies. Love the striped blouse. I think that will be quite a useful piece and it fits you well. Lovely mesh sweater too, echoing others to say any colour will be fine under it to compliment bottoms or accessories.

I like the tunic with the pants and agree with Denise's suggestions. Maybe lop off a tiny bit of length and definitely scrunch the sleeves, and you are going to have fun with it. I love the idea of pairing it with white, as well.

Great striped blouse, and the mesh tunic is also a fun piece! You did well!

The tunic looks great with those loose pants but I would definitely scrunch the sleeves. Also try it with skinny pants. I am not sure about the jacket over this tunic. Like you said, I think the proportions are a little bit off.
The blouse in 6-7 fits you perfectly and the green mesh sweater is a great addition to your summer wardrobe. I am looking forward to see these pieces in action.

I like the tunic, too, and I also prefer it with pants. Denise has given you great advice. I would experiment with white jeans, skinnies, belting, sleeve scrunching and maybe partial tucking, too. I also like the striped shirt a lot. It is a classic that can be taken in several directions. The mesh sweater is great, too! Beautiful and fresh summery color.

A lovely tunic, and lots of ideas here already for styling.
It could be given a more casual look by undoing the top button(s) and/or rolling the cuffs a-la-Angie, and perhaps tucking or semi-tucking.
I just love the feel of silk- gorgeous!

Love 1 and 2, those are my fave looks. I can't believe you rescued those pants, they look like brand-new, on trend slouchy tapered trousers! With jacket in #3 it might work better with the neckline opened, to reduce the long torso effect of the top a bit. Or, like you said, it might be the jacket is either a bit too short or the tunic a bit too long. But try the neck opening thing first.

I'm not sure about the skirt outfit, it feels like it needs some structure, which would be provided with tucking. Which would give the whole outfit a more classic vibe, if you are ok with that. Then maybe scrunch those sleeves, leaving the blouse fully buttoned as shown. The way the skirt and sandals work together with the blue of the blouse is so fab. Very J Crew. Now all you need is large glasses and a clutch.

Great blouse in #6 and #7, I like this on you and the length is perfect. Styling idea: tie at the waist and wear with those pants from #1-2 or skirt from #4.

Re: mesh sweater, any and all cami colors are worth experimenting with. I could also see this looking cute with a scarf. This mesh top is made for denim as the green looks very pretty with blue. You could try a blue cami, jeans and a scarf for a casual MOTG look; dressy shoes would be another idea.

I like the tunic. I think it would look better ith limmer fitting pants and scrunched sleeves. I don't think it works with the jacket. Love the striped shirt and can seeing it working with skirts & trousers. I'm not a fan of the mesh top maybeit's the jeans that are putting me off - how does it look with the black pants?

I think the tunic looks cool with the pants. The pants look like they have the perfect amount of slouch. I like loose flow-y looks so this outfitl looks great to my eye. I could also see it belted to rein in some of the volume. I'm not sure about the leather jacket over it though. It looks a little boxy and busy to me. not crazy about the dress pairing.

Love the pinstripe blouse. I can see this working well in your wardrobe and it sounds like you have some fun ideas for it.

I think the mesh sweater is a fun color. I think it would look good over a solid colored dress or with a bright cami and some white shorts. Fun sweater.

Great haul!

I am no expert and probably shouldn't comment, but I think the tunic will also look good with white slimmer legged jeans and with the sleeves scrunched.

I like the mesh sweater and wish I could wear that colour.

That's a great tunic--I can see why you reached for it this morning! I would wear it over skinny pants or jeans. Or try it over your jeans shown here--the fitted thigh will look great under a tunic, imho.
I like tunic over the pants better than over the dress, but I do think the pants would work better if they were more tapered at the ankle. You could maybe take a dart or two at the hem to bring them in. I don't think I would shorten them, though; don't think they'll need it if they're tapered.
The tunic looks nice with the jacket, but again I might prefer a more tapered pant. And/or belt the tunic?
Fantastic finds all around! Pretty blouse, and I like your plans for it. The mesh sweater is a very fun summer piece, and I'd say just try it over all those colored camis and see what you think. I do not think you need to stick to black or white; I can see it over a lot of colors, paired with jeans or jean shorts.

Sarah, you got some lovely things. As for styling, I like the first tunic better with pants than over the dress. I think the black pants look fine as they are. I'm not sure the proportions are right with the jacket, but maybe someone more knowledgeable will comment. I could see this tunic with skinny denim jeans. You might even consider having the tunic shortened some to make it easier to wear with skirts/dresses.
I love your striped shirt and your styling ideas. I have a similar one that is fun to use with pattern mixing with a floral print cardi, jacket or skirt, with microcheck trousers, with patterned scarves.
Several have worn mesh sweaters with a semi tuck. This one has lots of volume and might be too big on you, but I know that's the style. I think you can use any cami color you like under it, depending on the rest of the outfit. The color looks good on you. Do you have white jeans or shorts to wear with this sweater?

This rather boho silk tunic was probably the biggest style reach in my little shopping spree yesterday. But it was the one I was wanting to pull out to wear first thing this AM. Paired with a 10 year old pair of old pants from the donate pile. The Indian vibe of the outfit NancyLee posted and Una's thread just had me wanting to try the loose pant here. Does it work in 1-2? Do these need hemming/tapering?

3. Added silver jacket as temps started getting cooler. didnt feel like changing shoes so perhaps a little seasonally confused? I loved the Sci fi silver jacket with the boho tunic. short over long, i think the hems might be a little too far apart making the middle "third" a hair too much. I told DH that I thought this outfit was either great or frumpy I wasnt totally sure. He said he liked it. Thoughts? Suggestions?

4-5. Over summer dress... this looked ok in the mirror but I dont really dig it in the pics.

6-7. Just popped on with the jeans I was wearing. I think I could also wear this under my gray sleeveless sheath dress. I will probably also try it over a summer dress tied at the waist and under a blazer or jean jacket? Other ideas?

8-10. Trying the mesh sweater trend. I thought the color was fun. No idea how to style this? I put my emerald green cami under, should i stick with tonal or try black or white or ? (purple?, turquoise? orange?...) I figure it works with shorts and as a beach cover up.

11. All the loot. Will try to get some more quasi styled pics.

Thanks for your ideas!
