I posted a thread a while back as well seeking help with dressing DH.

I tried shopping for him but sizing was such an issue I have reverted to gtting him to come with me. The trick is to make it as painless as possible.

In -> Out. No more than 3-4 shops and we're done.

Ooh, I'll definitely have to check out Dappered.

My husband isn't remotely interested in clothing and his wardrobe is in sorry shape. I feel terrible that I'm constantly upgrading my wardrobe while he refuses to replace basic t-shirts because all the ones that pass his requirements list are "too expensive". Unless it's an absolute necessity, there's no way he's setting foot in a store (and he'll be grumpy the whole time).

Sarah, thanks for the referral to Dappered - it's great!

Angie -- thanks for your kind words. I'll be honest, some of the tricks I've learned from you (like understanding scale in layering), I've passed along to the men in my life.

Our readership is very women-centric so men's style at the moment - is not my focus. But perhaps eventually

http://dappered.com/
I've enjoyed this site, and it's not a site made for women to help men, it's a site for guys. But I've appreciated it too, and have used it to find things for my husband.
I also use Nordstrom online and catalog looks for inspiration. My husband likes Hugo Boss and Calibrate, and has recently discovered Zachary Prell shirts. Ack! But they are so well made, and very sharp.
What I appreciate most for men is well fitting clothes. We purchase most things at Nordstrom or the Rack because of the free basic alterations. We got Bryan a Boss suit at the rack for about 50% off retail and paid $60 to have both the pants and jacket fitted to perfection. So worth the extra money!
Men's shoes are also a big deal to me.
Most of Bryan's shirts we can find on sale at the Rack or Nordstrom itself (Boss, Prell, Kenneth Cole). Pants are trickier because he is slim and those sell out fast.
We like the fit and feel of wool blend trousers, even in the summer. He is an odd size, so it's worth it to us to pay full price to get free tailoring.
So in general, I think men need LESS things, but quality is important. Twice a year we look over Bryan's shoes, belts, wallet, watches, and laptop messenger bag and make sure they are cleaned up, polished, or replaced as necessary.
In the summer he wears crisp polos with Gap vintage khakis, and in the fall he wears wool dress trousers, button downs, and sweaters as it cools down even more.
I've found its helpful to play the "this or that" game with Bryan. For awhile I tried to dress him "J Crew" and one day we took a spin in Cole Haan, and he said "See, THIS is what I like." A ha! I had it all wrong.

A nagging question...

What do you suggest as a style source for men that is comparable to YouLookFab?

Angie, have you considered doing a regular post on men's style?
