I think wearing tights with a pattern will help break up the black. I was on the hunt for the large diamond sheer hose that I've seen other's wear here for that very purpose, but found the spanx ones instead.

I want to post photos, too. I have a lot of fun new things to share, but have been working way too much and missing access to my favorite photographers at home. So...I am getting set up to take my own pics at home!

I think a patterned or bright color tight would be fun with black boots. I'm picturing maroon tights with a bracelet or earrings that also have maroon in them. Grey tights would also be fab, especially with a jewel toned cardigan.

I think you have many options. I love all black. Very opaque tights with a textured sweater dress would look great- even with black boots. Charcoal tights or textured tights would also work with black footwear. Brown , chestnut, red, grey, wine- all great colors for footwear. I would probably wear a simple opaque with red booties- textured might be too much going on. Bring on the pictures!

Kyle, you can try more subtle texture like polka dot or diamond - lighter looking sheer textured hose. Or that can be fun: texture similar to the sweater cabling pattern but sheer. In this case you will have a contrast of solid sweater and sheer leg but with the echo of the pattern.

It might be two inches above the knee, possibly a little less than that. I do have grey tights...I also have red booties or red patent pumps (the pumps might be too vampy with the above the knee dress.) I'd have to try textured tights. They might possibly compete with the strong cabling of the sweater.

How far above the knee does it hit? If it is not too short you can wear it with a black textured hose and black boots - it will lighten up the look. You can also try black tights and colored footwear - like red or purple.

You could go all black, I think, and look fab, but maybe charcoal tights instead of black would work?

If you do all black, I'd make sure to throw in lots of texture (textured tights, textured booties or boots) and maybe pearl jewelery. Do you have gray boots or booties? That would also look cute.

Wearing all black sounds totally fab, especially with OTK boots. I would just make the tight textured, not opaque. And as another option, I would layer the sweater dress over a white button down shirt. Also might be fun with black leggings and booties.

And here is a very casual way i have recently worn my black cowl neck sweater dress:

I bought a chunky black short sleeve cowl neck sweater dress. If I wear it with tights, which seems appropriate, as it hits me above the knee, should they be black? If I wear black tights, do I wear black footwear? Boots? Shoes? I did receive my new 50-50 OTK boots (swoon) which, of course, are black, but have not worn them yet. Not sure why this is stumping me...I'd wear chestnut boots and black tights (if I had chestnut boots). Am I missing an obvious solution? Should I make it a deliberate all black ensemble?
