Yes to Chic French Charm. I am opposite, I have my moniker of Grownup Tomgirl and no other describing words. It is enough for me as I know intuitively what it means for me when styling. Different courses for different horses as Angie says

My 2 cents, FWIW:

Chic French Charm is sooooo spot on for your style, that the words can be your style moniker and your style words :)

You can stop right there!!!

Suz- I think you might be right, perhaps a style persona moniker might not be all that necessary for me. I really love my 3 new style words of chic, french, charm and feel they should be sufficient in guiding my style in 2025.

I like Lisa's suggestion, too.

Interesting, what Kkards said -- I see your style as quite casual which was why Madame seemed to "severe" to me -- and now I think of it, severe is not the right word, but "formal" is. I agree your style is tailored yes, but also relaxed, and maybe I see it as casual because of the emphasis on denim, which you wear so well....anyway -- it just goes to show you that these words connote different things to different people and the main thing is to go with something that resonates for you.

It's very personal -- you'll figure it out -- IF it works for you in the first place! Some people do not find the moniker as helpful as the adjectives. Other people find the moniker more useful. I fall into the latter camp. I'm not sure why. It just helps me more with shopping, editing, and putting outfits together. But you may find that, now your adjectives are nailed down, you are good to go!

I will say, your style is already cohesive and it works very well for you, so you must have some internal sense of what's right for you already. Which means -- trust your gut!

Glad to hear that you find my new style words seem to reflect my current style effectively. Its really thanks to Angie, who actually suggested them in the first place.

Style persona monikers seem tougher to achieve though, but I do think they can be useful when considering something new for your wardrobe.

Staysfit- you’re right, just probably need to intuitively figure this out and see if it sticks.

Suz- I wondered too, if Madame was a bit too severe, but as Jenni NZ correctly pointed out, I’m no longer a mademoiselle either.
I also liked hearing your thought process for your own style moniker and can see the benefits of having more descriptive words to express it. I guess I’m looking for something that’s a bit simple, catchy and concise.

You’ve now got me thinking that perhaps I could swap out “Madame” and use the english “Miss” instead. Seems somehow older women can easily be referred to as Miss more readily in english than with the french mademoiselle.

I could also change out “Coco” to “whimsy” or “playful” as a more accurate description of what I want with my style. Classique would still remain as it still reflects the french and the classics of my style.

So perhaps Miss Whimsy or Playful Classique? might be another option up for consideration.

But still be open to any other suggestions too.

I like either and both
like Jenni NZ I don’t find Madame too severe. I think Madame as sort of formal, but I think of your style as more tailored and therefore more formal. So I think it’s very appropriate and fitting. I should also note that in this case and context I’m not thinking of formal as stuffy or old fashioned.

Dee, it took me a few years to settle on a style statement and adjectives that help guide my personal style. For me the difference between what sounded good to my ear vs what worked in practice helped get things sorted. Both your monikers look good and they are similar so to me the subtle differences they create for your thinking would be most relevant. I would try picking whichever moniker rings truest in your heart/gut and test it out for a while to see if it provides the inspiration and guidance you need to help keep you on track with your personal style.

I actually love Madame Coco Classique. I thought of Coco Chanel when replying to your other thread but didn’t mention it. I don’t think Madame is too severe for you personally, I mean you’re not exactly a Mademoiselle any more are you?
And your 3 style words are fab! Well done you.

Well, I still like Ladylike Left-Bank Charmer, and I do like Madame Coco Classique as well, although I wonder if "Madame" is a bit too severe for you....how about Charmant Coco Classique?

Before I try to come up with more, let me tell you my own thinking when I came up with my own.

I wanted to choose a phrase that would do more than simply describe my style. I wanted a phrase/ name that would remind me of some considerations I might be tempted to forget in my shopping -- and that I know from experience can lead to shopping downfalls for me, when I do forget them.

My second goal was to remind myself to kick it up a notch, not to forego or forget to add some zingier elements to my otherwise rather simple and typically casual outfits and to highlight my hair to make it signature. (This could work with any signature element of style you want to focus on.)

Finally, my last word is really the core word (well, yes, it's the noun!) -- the one that encapsulates a whole lot for me -- a bit of androgyny, but less tomboy than school boy or, sometimes street urchin and sometimes romantic poet; a bit of French chic. a lot of practicality, a big dose of modern.

Laid-back signifies different things to different people, but for me it was just a reminder to stay practical and not get too precious because I'm getting on my bike and/or walking in the woods or the floodplain most days. Casual and practical are key!

Luminous reminds me to add shine and/or light to every outfit.

Garçonne is...well, garçonne!

Thanks to all who took the time to brainstorm and offer such wonderful suggestions. It was so nice to hear all of your kind thoughts and impressions.

AT LAST, after some careful consideration, I feel that style words that resonate best for me are:

CHIC, as it refers to being stylish and elegant

FRENCH, as it is a part of my heritage and references a classic timeless style

CHARM, as it incorporates a certain playfulness and casual ease.

I also have a couple of style persona monikers up for consideration as well:

Madame Belle Chic
Madame Coco Classique

But I'm also happy to hear any of your suggestions

***UPDATE: I’ve decided to go with just using my 3 styles words only. Through some discussions on this post, I feel that perhaps a style persona moniker may not be necessary for me right now.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me figure this out. It’s much appreciated.
