I agree with 3styles suggestion about looking for stripes that begin lower on the tee. I also feel a larger size might be worth trying. I can't stand anything remotely tight or fitted in the way of tees - I always size up and I personally even ignore the shoulder seam rule when it "feels" right to me. But I'm sort of on team oversized on all my tops I think. I also much prefer a front semi-tuck more like this Find example.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I will order a larger size to compare and see if the larger is any better. 3style, I did look at the styles with the multicolored stripes, as they really appealed to me. I'll look again when I go to order the larger size.

I feel lately some tees have a very short, tight sleeve. I noticed the same issue with the j crew tee I ordered. It just really depends what your aesthetic preferences are. If you like the cut of it- wear it and enjoy!
I think I’m a bit old school and like my tees with a slightly longer, looser sleeve....OR a sleeveless top. But I’m a real fusspot with tee shirts, I only have 6 altogether and I’m permanently on the lookout for them.

My wife can't do the semi-tuck despite the fact that yours looks really great to her. I like this t-shirt, the shoulder looks great albeit possibly the underarm looks somewhat tight? That could simply be from the edge of the arm.

What I’m finding lately is that sometimes I don’t like the intersection between the fit and the pattern. For example a garment cut which I like in a solid looks too small in a floral, even if they truly are the same size.

I’m wondering if you have considered something like Boden’s Ivory Multi pattern where the stripes start lower, and there’s a bit of multi colored interest at the top level of stripes. Certainly, I find as a member of team “big shoulders” that it’s tricky to work with stripes that go all the way up, and sometimes starting the pattern lower balances the effect more to my liking.

Wider belt and you're in business. Nicely done, Becky.

I like the fit of the tee. Shoulder seam position is fine for a jersey knit. That said, I'd have popped you in a larger size to compare fits.

I have the same Breton tee, and it does seem to run narrow, even as compared to other Boden items. I did take a size larger to get the fit I wanted. The fit through the arms/shoulders seems ok to me, but if it bothers you, I’d definitely try a size up. Or, return and look for something similar, but with a different cut. I completely agree with Aida that I like the styling.

I feel you on the shoulder/arm fit, I have similar fit issues and tees in particular do this same thing to me (part of why I don't wear them much!). Not sure if a size up would help a lot? The seam actually looks like it's in a decent spot so perhaps there's some other fit thing going on here. But if the size up DID fit better then as you said the looser fit would help with the semi tuck; with more fitted/fluid tees a front semi tuck (versus the side as you have here) works pretty well, with more volume you can go either front or side.

EDIT: The styling is super cute, by the way!

I can't do the semi-tuck although yours looks pretty good to me. I like this tee, the shoulder looks good although maybe the underarm looks a little tight? That could just be from the angle of the arm. I like the jeans rolled.

Several weeks back you all helped me decide to return some tops I'd hoped to wear with a pair of red skinnies: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....d-skinnies .

Angie suggested the Boden Breton tee, which I ordered in two colors (only one shown below). Other suggestions people had: wearing the jeans rolled up boyfriend style, wearing with a belt, and semi-tucking (at which I'm not terribly skilled). Here is a more casual take with the jeans incorporating those suggestions. I still don't think I'm getting the semi-tuck quite right, but that's complicated by the long length and more fitted shape of the top. My real concern with the top is the shoulder line. I have broad shoulders, and the seam line hits closer to the neck than I think it should. I included a photo, but the angle doesn't really help you see what my concern is.

What do you think:
1. Exchange for a size up to alleviate shoulder concerns and provide more room for a semi-tuck (a move which will exacerbate length issues)?
2. Return and try again with something else?
3. Keep and wear with confidence?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
