I have a pair of black stretch denim trousers that I got a few months ago. They refer to them as denim, but they don't feel like real denim to me--much more refined. Anyway, they stretch, but not a whole lot. THey were not uncomfortably tight when I first put them on--they were just tight enough to feel good--like they were holding me in, in a good way.

Be sure to leave the tags on while you are testing them to avoid trouble if they have to be returned.

Hi, Felicia! I have purchased BR jeans before, and they definitely stretched. Mostly in the bum.
There is a chance that mine had more stretch than some (they were the trouser jeans), but since they didn't stretch evenly going down a size wouldn't work. The smaller size would have been tight at the waist while fitting great everywhere else.
It's definitely worth a try if you like them, and like Dani said, you can always return them if they stretch out too much.

Sorry I don't have a good answer for you, but could you get either pair and wear them around the house for a few hours to see if they are going to stretch? That way, if they don't fit the way you'd like for them to, you could return them. Just a thought...maybe someone else will have actually had experience with BR jeans.

Hi everyone,

Today I tried on a beautiful pair of black stretch jeans from Banana Republic. The size 6 fit me perfectly, and the size 4 was too tight, visibly and comfort-wise, especially at the waistband.

In my experience, Gap jeans stretch out a whole size, so I asked the salespeople if they know how much these were likely to stretch, but they weren't really sure

Does anyone know whether Banana Republic jeans stretch out very much?? a little?? And how do you make sure you are getting a good fit when buying something that's going to stretch like that?

At $130CAD I can't afford to take a risk!

Thanks,
felicia
