That is just terrible. I would have been very upset as well. Not sure if you remember my leaking bra episode that I posted a little while ago but manager of the store not only exchanged it for new bra but also reimbursed me for my shirt that was ruined. I think Naturilizer should have definately done the same thing. To me, that is a customer service fail that they wouldn't consider that and the bag is still on the display

So I called their customer services (1-800 number) and told about the problem. I told them everything I said here. They said they will call the store and investigate about the bag still being on display. I do hope they do!

Well for what it's worth, I tried. I don't know what more to do.

Yes, call the head office and voice your concerns! I'd hate to see something like that happen to anyone else. The store should be ashamed for trying to sell the merchandise, even at a reduced price, now that they know about this problem.

I'm glad you were able to save your shirt and get a refund on the bag. Maybe you should call/email the head office to complain. I would be angry about them leaving them out when they know there is a problem, too.

Ruth, thankfully the tee-shirt was saved. I cleaned it twice, it worked. What I find appalling is that the bag is still on sale and someone else will run into the same misfortune - when they know full well about the problem!

Oh the horror! I would be upset. Do push for a full refund for both the price of the handbag and for the replacement cost of the shirt if it can't be completely cleaned.

UPDATE:
Yesterday I was able to wash the stains out completely. This morning I went to return the bag. I was fully reimbursed. I saw that the straw bags were still on display. The manager rubbed a towel over them and... the green came off of the bag.
BUT she left it there and said "Oh well, for that price... we'll have to tell our customers that they can't tuck it under their arms. "
!!!
Well she has lost me as a customer right there. I am not going to Naturalizer anymore.

Oh no! I've had dark jeans stain a light bag, but never the opposite. I am crossing my fingers for you that the stain remover sheets work and that you can be reimbursed for the damage.

No wonder it was on sale.

La Française, I will look for those lingettes. I cleaned my tee on its own but it came out stained, still. It's a national holiday here so I have to wait for tomorrow to go back to the store.

Your straw bag version sounds much better. Naturalizer is considered a good, if not high-end store here. I was far from imagining that their bag would be so cheaply made. Lesson learned.

I'm so sorry this has happened! Have you tried washing your tee on its own, but with a couple of those lingettes in the machine? The ones that are meant to remove any dye that has 'bled' if you accidentally put something dark or bright on a hot wash with your whites or pastels? They saved the situation for me, when I left a red paper table napkin in the pocket of my white jeans(!).

Having said that, the store should certainly reimburse you for any damage to your tee. After all they all have 'responsibilité civile' insurance (not sure how you translate that. Third party insurance??) for cases like yours.

BUT, I have a confession to make! I too laughed when I read your post. You see, I'd just come home from our local market, and my own straw panier du marché was overflowing with fresh veggies, a big water melon, a long baguette, and a couple of bottles of wine. We ALL use them, though they are natural coloured, with long leather straps to hang from the shoulder (sure you must have seen Bardot with one). They make great beach bags, too. What a pity you chose a pretty green version!!! Anyhow, good luck with getting things put right.

Thank you, I will certainly insist on having some compensation for my ruined tee. Just pulled it out of the machine. The stains are still visible, although less.

Vildy, I am so sorry for your son's condition. It is so true though, we often don't know we can ask. My DH has taught me this and I admit I am still sometimes too sheepish to push.

Nicoleb, I laughed too when I read your comment, I realized how strange it looks! Like the Roaming Straw Bag Returns III, rated PG-13...

So today I got sucked inside the Naturalizer shop and got this green straw bag on sale for CAN$14.99, down from CAN $48.00.

Here it is :http://pandorasdeals.com/2012/.....s-511.html

Mind you I would have never paid the full price for a straw bag, be it cute or whatever. Anyway I thought I had made a good deal and decided to wear it right out of the store.

Low and behold, when I came home a couple of hours later I discovered the dye had stained (and possibly ruined) my shirt!!! It was all over my left side (where I tuck bags under my arm), on the seam and in big streaks across the fabric.

I called the store and they told me they would refund me for the bag. However the clerk on the phone didn't know what her manager's policies were regarding ruined clothes and told me to come by during the week.

Have you ever run into such a situation? I am so sad, not so much for the bag, but for my top, a new turquoise Tommy Hilfiger tee.
