That makes sense, Maya. I do get tired of needing different length bootcuts for flats vs heels. That's one reason I like skinnies

Perfect, Maya! My straight legs look like that with heels. The hems can’t actually reach the surface of the floor because they are still too tapered, but a bit of scrunch is fab. I really like pants that scrunch at the ankle. Fab bit of textural interest.

I have to wear straight legs Cathy, they're just too darn flattering not to. I have a pair of 2" comfy heels but I never wear them because none of my pants are PPL with heels. I thought maybe I could get away with straight legs since they function as skinnies for me...unless, of course, Angie says not to, since she is the PPL authority.

I have the same question! I have some new straight leg (Angie, cover your ears) cords from J Jill that need hemming and i'm puzzled where to put the hem. I think there can be a slight "break" at the front but not so much "scrunching". I think....

Well, if they got any longer they might skim the ground in the back and just scrunch more in the front. But I feel like that's a little too much scrunch for me. Maybe it would work on someone taller.

Maya, I think this length is fine. As Shiny said, you can't really expect straight legs to skim the ground since your foot and shoe will always be wider than the leg opening - unless you are wearing 6-inch heels, and I think I know your style well enough to assume that's not the case.

Looks okay to me. These aren't really hitting the bottom because they can only go so far; the shoe is wider than the leg opening.

I know skinnies can scrunch around the ankle and therefore don't have to skim the ground, but what is the verdict for straight legs? If they are being worn with heels, do they have to reach the bottom? Mine look a bit like this when I wear them with 2" heels:

http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....pid=686448

Yes? No?
